I take your point. But I'd blame all those services and companies who decided to move call centres out that way and created a wall of suspicion about scam calls that prey on the vulnerable. You shouldn't be condemned for your accent, but you should be condemned for trying to rip people off.

This to me had the hall marks of a scam. I directly asked him who he represented, at which point he hung up. Hence my reaction.

Stopped by the military to ask where we're going, looked at our sat nav to check. Followed the route all the way, then told us to turn a different way off the roundabout and follow a diversion. Just going back the same way and now redirected a completely new route back to riga, meaning the scope of the issue has changed.

After receiving a voicemail (which I could hardly understand even after listening several time) whilst on holiday , and ringing them back on the number I had for them instead of one quoted in case a scam , I got someone in their call centre who could hardly speak english and couldn't resolve the reason they had called in the first place as I couldn't understand them and they couldn't understand me.
Kept me hanging on the line for one hour & 45 minutes while they tried to find out from different departments why they had phoned me in the first place. (Was sitting in the hotel room reading my book whilst waiting , it took so bloody long!) . They couldn't sort it and told me "ring back tomorrow" .
Had to eventually ring back when we got back from holiday....this time got through to a person from UK who solved the issue and got me sorted within minutes . If only they had answered the phone in the first place I could have saved lots of phone allowance minutes , stress and could have enjoyed my holiday more without stressing about having to sort it out in a few days when I got home!

We have a new ornament, not entirely sure where it’s going to live yet… not sure it’s weatherproof

Just taken the youngest to work - I offered, so we had a bit more time together.
There must have been 5 youngsters on bikes with passengers on board, not riding on the handlebars, but sat on the crossbars.
1 went almost the whole of Westway like that, didn't give a monkeys toss that there were cars front and back waiting to manoeuvre. Then as we were waiting for the lights at Westway/A449 to change, they rode so close to us I thought I was going to lose paint through the bike pedals scraping the door.
Would I have been at fault if I'dve hit them? Never got above 5 miles an hour so wouldn't have done much damage - shame.

I've had very similar calls. Long delay between answering the phone and initial response, very strong accent but also very typical British names.

I'm registered with the TPS so any UK company should be cross referencing this before cold calling me. 9 times out of 10 its about the accident I had, apparently

Found out today my neighbours call my cat an entirely different name that they like better.

Bit weird - not sure what to think about it!!
Awww, just remember that they like/love your cat enough to name it..... If they didn't like it, they wouldn't have x

I'm sure our neighbours have other names for our Charlie, Pheobe & Soph. Probably, shoo, go away & sod off....

I used to call my neighbours cat 'fussy fuss pot' when he came around to visit , and whilst on his luxury holidays of being pampered with me when they went on their hols.

' Hello Mr Black Cat' from one of the neighbouring roads responds to his 2nd name .

Not sure whether son & his girlfriend like me calling 'Leaf' their hamster ''Hammy hamster'' .....

Where around Stafford could one buy outdoor non-floodlight lights without resorting to B&Q, Screwfix or Wickes who only seem to sell cheap crap that eventually dies? (I’ve had two B&Q lights die on me so far, out of 3)
