wanna see my snake?
How long are you there for @tek-monkey ?
Another month or so, then back to the UK, but will be alternating between countries for the foreseeable future. Her dad needs help and his family here are arseholes to put it mildly, been using him like a cash machine for years we've discovered yet he's sat here on knackered furniture in clothes full of holes. We were under the impression they were helping out, that appears to be 1 visit per month where they help him pay his bills to get access to his bank 🤬

Pre brexit I could have stayed here but we're rather limited now.

Today, I finally got around to visiting some gardens about 15 miles away - I've been going to 'go there next time' since the mid-1970s.

I guessed the end of the showers accurately and, thus, had the whole place largely to myself. There are some formal areas and a large 'rustic' parkland beyond. The 'big house' itself burnt down in 1950 and the site was used for the rather palatial local school.

From the elevated formal area, you can look out into the parkland and the lake.

The walk around the lake involves crossing this rather haphazard-looking footbridge.

The gardens were designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and, since the fire, the state has maintained them, with free public access.

Where around Stafford could one buy outdoor non-floodlight lights without resorting to B&Q, Screwfix or Wickes who only seem to sell cheap crap that eventually dies? (I’ve had two B&Q lights die on me so far, out of 3)
Nope, can't think of anywhere... Amazon?

Will be glad when I can stop looking at the clocks and mirrors which aren't there ! Amazing how many times I've gone to check the time or glance in the wall mirror , never even realised I was doing it so much before .
And even though the telly and dvd have been unplugged , hubby still didn't want to give up his remote controls when I went to grab them to pack away .:lol:

Supping in my new local :pint:. Now become Worcester Jas ;)
Going to be fun later after a few ciders. I can't find the stairs , ensuite, bathroom , bedrooms etc being disoriented with the layout already whilst sober....
Errr.... you better stay as part-time @staffordjas ......your shenanigans make mine look minor! (and we would miss you!)
https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/ and https://worcesterobserver.co.uk/ will, no doubt, have regular reports...

:up:Have you set the date for the forum house warming bash yet?
Just tidying up , and waiting for the new fridge freezer to arrive on Thursday....can't serve you lot warm booze :D

Seriously though , if any formurites are ever in the Worcester area you are welcome to pop in for a drink to help us celebrate our new adventure :)

New experience at a different tip today , getting rid of loads of boxes & bubblewrap. Good job I'm good at reversing , as everyone was being directed where to back in. I'd have been in trouble if it was parallel parking with an audience

Loving this house already! Wake up to a view of trees rather than houses. Nice secluded large corner plot , so no more struggling getting in & out with neighbours blocking us in. Lovely neighbours who have welcomed us with cards & bottles of plonk.
Loads of space in the house , and getting my step count up getting lost in the maze of rooms.

Not got much time to post with sorting the house & hubby's work stuff out ( we're back up in Stafford tomorrow to load the car with computer stuff, files etc ready for him working from home).
But taking some time out at the moment, chilling with Sunday lunch ( bit late in the day, but finally getting to eat). in the local :pint:

I've been off work for 3 days now, all the covid symptoms but negative test results.... Almost feels like exactly this time, last year.

Roll on feeling better...
Hope you are feeling better soon. I had symptoms for 6 days, last year before my tests started showing positive .

Awww that's fantastic, I didn't realise you had completed so soon, hope you are having the very best time x
It's only happened now due to our seller being good enough to break the chain & move in with family until the top of the chain gets their act together.

Really loving it here and feeling at home already.

Only had to ring son once yesterday and be guided back in the car by phone.

Didn't dare wake him up at 7.30am today after we had decided to explore routes through the countryside on our early morning walk and got hopelessly lost. All the paths & trees look the same and we kept passing the same bin about 20 times.
