I actually thought we were being invaded in the early hours when I got up for hangover paracetamol. (Hung out of the window taking a video of the strange lights in the sky , but having a crap camera phone it's not come out very good.)

Decided might wait to see if we're still here tomorrow before starting my crash diet to get into next week's planned party clothes.. again.

Since moving in , been assuming it's some sort of bird making the weird scary noises in the trees......... Just discovered it's most likely the squirrels. Didn't realise they actually bark. Just had some 'barking' away like mad in the trees overhanging my garden as I was getting into the car .
Googling has brought up that many of the eerie noises heard in the woods at night , in addition to the foxes, could possibly be made by them (I hope...)

Just walked 10750 paces around Bristol (I'm here on a Radio Officers Association jolly, basically, a piss up.)
Much better than yesterday when I arrived and Eva Braun in the satnav threw a total wobbler because of all the road closures for the 10k run taking place around Bristol City centre. I drove in ever decreasing circles until I disappeared into a worm hole and ended up in another universe (or Cleethorpes, delete which not applicable.)
We were supposed to visit the ship SS Great Britain today (one of Brunel's creations,) but it's closed on a Monday.
Two days of complete mayhem !!! (I'm starting to understand what @staffordjas feels like. )

That's some distance from where I'm staying. Also I'm a bit limited on drinking these days. Tonight is a formal dinner, collar and tie and all that !! I've had trouble with this before for not wearing a suit. I haven't got a f****** suit, nor do I ever intend to get one. A blazer and chino's and a marine shirt with OU tie better be good enough, or blood will flow.

(Some of the members are ex Cunard and P & O passenger ship sparkies, so they've never really had to work for a living. Or so I tell them. ... which usually gets a response not at all from the Cunard or P & O style of etiquette.)

Hoping our do tomorrow night isn't a posh dress up type , I can't get much out of hubby but now apparently it's not just a small meet up as he first told me.
He's told me my new jeans ( only things that fit after pigging out since moving here, todays fish & chips whilst dropping him off for his doctors appointment hasn't helped ) will be ok with a jacket and boots ...... might be making a quick dash to M&S once parked up in the hotel
