Looked out of bedroom window after hearing shovelling.....seems our water saga with neighbours isn't over yet...

A country that's always got on well with Britain, possibly from a shared dislike of Spain.
Hubby nearly started WWIII in an exchange place in Portugal , when he spoke Spanish to the woman. It's only because I was practicing my bit of Portuguese with her that the situation was diffused and we actually got our cash,

On my way out to Tesco, just been speaking to the blokes digging up the neighbours side where the water / national grid dug for our repairs. Seems they've got National Grid ( as NG utilities vans) to put them a new extended driveway in, which they'd mentioned they were planning even before the water saga.

Bastards. Did you do it at work?
No, at home last night, but the bruise didn't look so bad, I thought it'd pass by morning, but no I got worse. Smacking your forehead straight onto a concrete floor isn't the best plan. I didn't even put my arms up to stop my fall.

Spent most of the day in a & e after falling & smacking my head on a concrete floor.

Head injury, concussion, vertigo & confusion.

It was a 6 &1/2 HR wait, but all the staff there are brilliant.
Gosh , Hope you are going to be OK.
Feel terrible but glad nothings fractured. 7 days off work, so another disciplinary for me.

Glad nothing fractured but look after yourself @littleme .

So bad that you have to face disciplinary for a genuine reason for being off!

( I had County caterers HR visiting me at home to give me a disciplinary for being off when I came out of hospital after my hysterectomy. Never even asked how I was, or offer to make a cuppa as I wasn't allowed to even lift a kettle. Just ploughed into me & told me off as if I was a naughty kid. So I took the max sick leave period off & then gave my notice in as I hated the job anyway.)

Yeah I know it's rubbish but it's the rules! I had one for having covid at Christmas, this will be another one. At the moment I couldn't care less if they sack me, the place has become terrible to work in, so short staffed, overworked etc etc etc..... It would probably be a blessing.

Still up as my head hurts to much to sleep.... Poor hubby snoring next to me in his chair as he doesn't want me to be alone....

Anyone else that bangs your head....don't wait 10 hours like I did, go straight away. 😔

Work feels much better under the FYFM system (feck you, fire me). I'm sure a few news outlets would be interested in a story about someone working in close proximity to the public fired for not going to work with covid.

I remember my brother collapsed at work at tesco, sent to hospital, appendix removed. Went back to work too early, get hurt again, made it a second absence in x weeks and triggered a disciplinary where he was fired. Important lesson there, stay off work as long as possible.

Aaagh! Managed to secure a standing ticket for New Order in London later this year, which hopefully means I'll be able to tick two bucket list songs off my list (True Faith and Love Will Tear Us Apart). Definitely a band I would have regretted not seeing live before they call it quits so can't wait!

I used to be a bit of a fan of New Order, then I went off them, Peter Hook left and I didnt feel it was the band anymore, similarly I am not a fan of Peter Hook in any of his non New Order guises. Recently though I have been listening to a lot of their catalogue and remembering what a great band they were, Low Life in particular is an album I have returned to. I am sure they will be excellent.

Just had the fastest ' fairground type ' ride back in a taxi. Through 2 red lights , emergency stop at an island, as he wasn't anticipating cars to be on it , and up someone's @rse who was doing the speed limit.
