Worked out how to speak to son on doorbell while he was checking our house last night,

So tonight started making ghostly howls when I got an alert. Except it hadn’t picked him up arriving , just as he’d left and driving off. So treated the neighbours and anyone walking past in the woodland paths to ghostly werewolf noises 🙈🤣
The youngest face timed me today at work when I was on lunch.....she was on holiday eating lunch in her car as everyone in her friend group was arguing, and I was at work having lunch....no matter where I put my phone, it gave THE MOST unflattering pictures.... Still lovely to have lunch with her...

Maintaining my mid-week reconnaissance missions, I did a route yesterday that turned out to be much nicer than I expected. I knew it had suffered heavily in the Big Storm, and the area was not available for many weeks after, but a lot of work has been done and it is fully clear now, at least 'where you should be'. It's all good surfaces, too, so it can be kept in reserve for a Sunday when it will be useful.

There is, currently, some organisational chaos about this Sunday's target, so it may even be used sooner than I expected.

I get roped into doing things for a beekeeper. He does tell me what these things are, but he is almost unintelligible and I really have no idea, in fact, but he always seems happy with the end products.

This seemed to be a requirement for a metal roof on the wooden structure supplied. I cut the supplied sheet to suit and attached it, then bending and forming the sheet to run down the sides.

I delivered it today and he declared that it was exactly what he required.

Whatever it actually is...

Today's further activities have been defined by a delivery of wood.

I'm hoping to get it all into one greenhouse, now that the experiments of the last few years have shown that I can stack it more tightly that I was initially.

It's largely nice bits of Ash that would be quite burnable now, but it will benefit from the free solar drying regime.

That greenhouse has two roof windows and three louvre windows in the sides - leaving them all open all day, and the door, has resulted in the interior being a bit better for the stacking operation. I've regretted not doing that in the past.

All stacked in one greenhouse and it can steam away now. None of this should be burnt until a good way into next year.

I hoped to get it all under-the counter, and I probably could have, with a bit more care, but I had a bit left that ended up on the top of the bench area.

So, I relocated the pressure washer and used that space for the 'extra' wood. Much better, and the pressure washer will get some use soon, so it needs to be accessible.

In related news, the cat has had issues with me over the last couple of days - I'm sure she knows of the 'other cat', that I received training about looking after the other day - and, in preparation for the delivery, I had parked the car in the 'wrong place' overnight - this usually signifies that I will be running away for a few weeks. She was a bit huffy all morning, but the opportunity to inspect the delivery overwhelmed her current low opinion of me - and all is largely back to 'normal' now.

The other cat is not as friendly as 'my' cat is - we'll see how we get on.

I went out to the next village for the evening with my German friend and 'my' cat was waiting for me at the back door, knowing that I don't take a key with me unnecessarily and will use the code-lock to gain access to the house.

After emergency visit to doctor on thursday ,as knee so swollen and excrutiatingly painful I couldn't walk or bend it, it seemed to be getting better yesterday. ....

Today leg has got black bruises all down the back. Son made me ring 111 this evening. A doctor rang me back , saw photos and worried about deep vein thrombosis 😭,

Hospital just rang , got a 10.15pm appointment at Worcester hospital to rule out DVT.

If you don't hear from me they've kept me in......

I had a dvt in 1999, I was so young that no one
realised till I was 2 weeks away from loosing my leg... I had a artery transplant (for intimal hyperplasia) I was told it was going to last 10 years...26 years in...no problems...

My knees were swollen & black all over from arthritis, it was so painfully, cortisone injections & cocodamol sorted it, but 6smonths on its creeping back in...

Good luck, hope you get it sorted

Thanks @littleme

Phew , I’ve escaped!

Could have kissed that hospital doctors after all the tests , investigations and measuring resulted in him announcing not DVT and I could walk out to the scary outside waiting for my lift back ( 2 cops , 2 geezers kicking off and a few more dodgy scenarios )

Bruising explanation -Says the Naproxen I was prescribed on Thursday would cause the bruising. ( same group as aspirin blood thinners) mixed with my usual BP meds.
The doc Thursday had been pressing my swollen unbending leg , so feasible.

So… Don’t take Naproxen as prescribed twice daily , restrict for bad flare ups.

Just hoping my steroid injections in worst knee hurry up now. Last week waiting list at our surgery for them was over another 2 months.
