Come on Charlie-cat
They drained 200ml of pee, he's on muscle relaxants and painkillers, so is drugged up to the eyeballs, currently residing in the dog crate in his bed with water & litter in there with him too.

It's horrible as he showed no signs of there being anything wrong when I fed him just after 5am this morning, but by the time the carer got up for work he was clearly in a lot of pain... Fingers crossed.

Enjoying a drop of red.
I can't begin to describe the absolute joy that pulling a covered car trailer from Shrewsbury to Formby is during Friday night rush hour. I'm normally very calm behind the wheel of a car but by the end of the journey I was ready to kill. A stiff Highland Park was required upon arrival to steady my nerves.

On the plus side, having that drink means Mrs p will have to drive us for the meal tonight. On the negative side, I have the reverse journey to do during Monday morning rush hour...

I'm thinking of treating the parents to a takeaway next week as it's mum's birthday and I'd usually take them out for a meal but they're not comfortable doing so with covid at the minute. So I'm just looking for some good options, what takeaways in Stafford would people recommend?

Narvana for curry, or if they prefer a more meat & two veg type meal, I hear 'Pie Minister' are tasty (I've tried the restaurant ones & they're great, but ive not tried delivery).

As an alternative you could try an Afternoon tea delivered....

Thank you x he's eaten a little but is still drugged up to high heaven. It would be so mich better if they could talk. Just like @SketchyMagpie 's bird, Charlie now hates me & gives me evil glances everytime he opens his eyes, it was made worse I'm sure as I couldn't go in with him (he usually hides in my coat at the vets)

Was meant to be having a look at historic pub interiors with a couple of old friends today but couldn't make it in the end. Pubs were potential additions to CAMRA's register of historic pub interiors and checks on existing pubs on the register in the county. Nightmare timetable but it would have been fun. Such is life.

On the way to Cumbria and stopped at a little place just outside of Preston for the night in my Motorhome. I haven't had a drink in weeks and the result of consuming a little too much wine last night may see me not having another drink in weeks.

A takeaway curry from the Morris Man would be my first choice.
Or Nishads ( and maybe enjoy a pint in the Coach and Horses opposite while you're waiting )

Two years ago I stayed IN the centre of Preston, £30 a night in the Sun.

Was Stafford's Railway Inn on your list ?

The company I work for is Preston based, there was also a great country music club outside of Preston so I have seen a lot of Preston for many reasons. Not sure it's a destination I would choose outside of those reason, yet here I am.

That reminds me of an old joke about two deaf blokes discussing the high price of beer in a live music pub.

The barmaid explained that the live band were country and western which got translated to some c#*! from Preston by the deaf guys.
