I think I could be moving sooner rather than later. I've only got till 17th January anyway before we get hoofed out of here. It's a long horrible story that I'm not quite ready to tell yet.
Anyways we are in what they call pre offer check, we've done all of that including a letter from the GP so fingers crossed we get offered a house.
If any of you happen to have any boxes and don't mind coming south a little to my part of Wolves I would greatly appreciate it.

When I moved I collected boxes from Home Bargins - they constantly having stacks of them in the back as stock is always going out!

Good luck with the move!

Still spurting blood everywhere , after yesterdays attack from the razor sharp egg shell. :hmm:
(Not as bad as the time I needed 6 stitches after washing the inside of a glass , it breaking and almost slicing my thumb off though.Don't fancy seeing that big sewing hook thing in A&E again ! )

Son has come home this morning for a couple of days.... Had my wardrobe raided!

I've now lost my mini skirt, pink top and black tights ........fit him perfect for his 80's fancy dress party on friday night. Makes a good Freddie Mercury

I refuse to cut my long black hair off though , to stick on a piece of cardboard to make a wig !!!

He's got lots of likes on instagram , for the video of him parading around the lounge with my hoover to "I've got to break free"

Tomorrow, I'm taking an old boy to a hospital fifty miles away - it's a nice drive and, as hospitals go, a lovely place to visit.

As I suspected, tomorrow is the day for the road resurfacing*, so I will be leaving the car at his place tonight and walking up there in the morning - it will be one less 'access arrangement' to negotiate.

* It's very handy having a mole on the council here, who will tip you off about things that might be of concern to you.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Nice long walk in the sunshine on the Chase this morning with the pooches. I like the chase in the colder weather because it's only the regulars that use it so there's hardly anyone about. Followed this with what I hope to be the final lawn mow of the season and cutting what bushes and trees need attention at this time of year.

Got a twin-axle trailer-load of non compostible garden rubbish that's been building up to take to the tip in a few minutes. After which I may decide to park up by Plumbits and pop into Cafe Nero for a large latte as a treat.

Because I'm worth it...

My washing machine had been leaking for about 6 months. Just a small amount, enough to cause me consternation but not enough to do any damage on a tiled floor. I tried everything, assumed it was over filling for a good month. I then removed the "fluff trap". Turned out it didn't like a large build up of receipts and fluff. Removed them and it did the job.

Phew! Getting to return my top, tights and mini skirt to my wardrobe , rather than them disappearing down the motorway for an 80's themed b'day celebration around the city's bars.
As well as deciding he would freeze to death, son didn't want to risk getting separated from the group and beaten up for looking like a trannie tottering along in his Freddy Mercury costume .

At least my skirt had at least one wear in its lifetime while we were playing around trying to make an outfit up. I've never been able to get the skirt on since I bought it years ago, intending to get down into the ' bargain buy'. Haven't suceeded yet and probably never will!

(New years resolution now decided.... stick to diet long enough to at least get to wear it once)

So, the hospital trip went off OK today, despite the assault on the road here being like a re-enactment of D-Day.

We got out and back in OK and I retrieved the car from his place when the road was vacated - and it looks like it's a nice job.

We went there via the main road, for the purposes of accurately timing our arrival - you're not getting in the building if you arrive unnecessarily early.

Also, I noticed that all the car park ticket validation machines had been removed. I took this to be a maintenance issue, until I realised that there was one left, by the entrance, where its operation could be monitored and it could be sanitised as required, rather than just being left to 'us' to use properly.

We returned by a shorter, but slower, route over the mountains. It actually took almost exactly the same time, but we did meet virtually nobody on the single-track sections.

I've just found out that The carer met the whole PSG football team today. The carer does not follow football. The carer does not know who Lionel Messi is...... Or any of the other football players.....

I've asked the carer if he is a real man! Even I know who Lionel Messi is....

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Me and our 2 older lads are in stitches!

That made me laugh ... but ... who the f*** is Lionel Messi ? :P
It gets worse, the carer stood next to Messi, has no idea who he was, thought Messi was on a stag do, and asked him to move out of the way so he could collect his badge and go to his meeting!

Absoloutly in stitches, we only found out when the carer asked "what's PSG, there were 3 busses with PSG on them at my hotel"?

Thankfully me & my 2 eldest boys know more about football than the carer...... Still laughing!

Sadly not one of them included a good rifle and a shit load of ammo. 🤪

I wouldn't have know who PSG are either (just googled ...so now I do :D ).

I've been in a lift going to breakfast with the All Blacks in a Dublin hotel, completely unaware who they were and chatting away with them about how I only came up to their waists. Only when I said afterwards about everyone being giants that I was told who they were.

Found out we've had breakfast , and shared a few nights in the bar chatting away with quite a few ' Well known celebrities ' in the hotel in Worcester we usually stay in (pre-covid times) over the years . Only when the staff have mentioned it afterwards that we found out who they were.

I could be sitting next to the queen and not know.

Only person I would know is Boris with his hair. (No chance if he was wearing a hat though ..)

I think I remember when we had PSGs at school - some kids' arms came up like little volcanoes.

This was in Cyprus, so we all had short-sleeved shirts and it didn't really get that Messi.
