A bit more blowy and colder today but a nice bracing stroll along the promenade this morning.

Had a little walk around Llandudno after the cloud and mist lifted. Forecast is still saying overcast and rain but thankfully it's totally incorrect.

Now sitting in a pub having a spot of late lunch and they're playing Chrimbo songs.

So far I've taught the locals the words to United songs like "Feed the scousers let them know it's Christmas time" and "on the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me an Eric Cantona".

I've not even had a beer yet either 😁
Think I can see the famous lamp post that the seagull launched his attack from . Had it down to a fine art...watch people buying the expensive ice-creams and a perfect swoop to take it out of your mouth in seconds ! (I caused a scene by screaming , then hubby caused even more of a scene having a go at me for being stupid letting him take it as he'd just forked out a fortune on it against his wishes  )

Put my decs up. The Factory might have gone , but the good old MRI/ GEC Measurements christmas tinsel still lives on and still looking good ! :D

When I worked in MRI/GEC Measurements they used to have a disco and bar open in the works canteen in the 70's , when everyone finished at Christmas Eve lunchtime and was well frequented all afternoon. They had a lovely big christmas tree adorned with decs..... when I woke up in bed later , after somehow staggering the 2 miles home , I was still fully dressed and decorated up like a christmas tree 🎄

Enjoying a drop of red.
I am now officially a fair-weather biker. This morning's planned ride to work was abandoned at the sight of a bit of ice. Instead, being a complete wus, I chose the option of taking a pre-heated, toasty warm car and listening to some Quo, at high volume.

Pension book next...

Noticed I've got a couple of new roses just appeared , on the bush that's been there since we moved in 40 years ago and normally just flowers in the summer. Lots of my summer potted plants on my patio have started flowering again as well, in addition to a couple in the borders. They must like this snow better than me!

Possibly a reaction to the warmish fortnight before the cold snap - the thrush where I am spent that fortnight in a full-on spring rehearsal - shouting his bloody head off all day.

9hr shift with a 1/2hr break on my day off. Busy but good, love a busy day as it goes past in a flash.

It's beginning to look a look a lot like Christmas...

Also.... Sainsbury 25% off 6 x wine is extended to next Wednesday.

Realise I really must stop wearing 10 layers under my big padded coat , especially when there is a camera about . I seem to have got myself in most of the event photos , and looking like the Michelin man .. :o:embarrass: (At least I was warm though, if not looking glamorous  )

Even worse....just spotted myself on a video stuffing my face  :embarrass:

Where I am, the legal technicalities of closing time in pubs has never really troubled anybody very much, until this plague arrived.

Now, one is obliged to be off the premises before midnight - and it actually happens.

So, I am home, with half a bag of Lidl cashews and a mug of mulled wine for supper.

Tonight, as the wind has dropped here, I elected to go to the more distant of my two acceptable pubs. This involved a three mile bike ride in the frost, but I knew I could rely on Eddie to have his usual impressive fire going when I got there. I was quite warm from the ride and Eddie had really pushed the fire, in advance of an evening which wasn't as cold at it looked like it was going to be, so, walking in through the door was like passing from Siberia to the Borneo jungle - an effect made all the more convincing since the butterflies hibernating in the rafters had all woken up from their hibernation and were flittering about like a summer's afternoon.

I *think* I've just about finished my Christmas shopping... Only 3 more things to get, but I can't do them online (who would believe it?!).

Phew.
