I took my new car to work this morning, parked in the school car park - usual spot!

Out on the bell - couldn't seem to reverse it out...

Got a bit hot and bothered.. a small crowd gathered...

A lovely lady tried to wave me back... the crowd of angry teachers grew as I blocked the whole way...

In the end I got out (bright red, trying to cover my mortified face) as the lovely lady reversed it for me... someone in the crowd gave a small cheer!

I am so embarrassed and am contemplating never going back...

This happend to me last month, i had a oil leak and took it to the garage, tried to reverse into the garages parking space and Rory refused to do it, much juddering by Rory and a bright red face from me and i gave up.....fortunatly the carer had followed me there and did it for me...ive still no idea what i did wrong!

......I've had mine since April, & I can't work the lights, I've found out today that I have cruise controll and something else...can't remember what, but I dont need it anyway, but I don't have a cd player.....devastating.

Quite honestly I will have a melt down if my next car doesn't have a cd player! How else am I to have a song on repeat till I know all the words?
I literally play the same song on repeat till I get to work...not anymore, only free radio wolves for me now 😭😭😭

*my phone wont connect to the car for anyone wondering

I miss my CD player . I don't do all this modern linking phone music to the car system (haven't even got any music on my phone , because I don't know how ). Just have to keep flicking through the radio channels in the hope of music instead of adverts or rabbiting.

I'm ok at reversing , it's the parallel parking where I have to either find a massive space or park miles away.

After 6 years of having our car , the other week accidentally discovered the sun visor has a hidden mirror. Had to even check I'd got into the right car 😂

The Japanese chap I worked with had never driven a non-Japanese ca in his whole lifer. Work wouldn't let him use his car for some work off-site and hired a car for him. It was a Vauxhall. He had it for a fortnight and never managed to get it into reverse gear. He used to push it out of parking spaces, or park it so that gravity would roll it back.

He had it for a fortnight and just established a procedure to deal with what he thought was just a rubbishy non-Japanese car.

He was apoplectic when we showed him the secret lifting-the-gaiter-ferrule trick to let it into reverse.

My wife's car doesn't have a CD player, it would be a deal breaker for me. The car could be perfect and a ridiculous price, but without a CD player I wouldn't buy it. I know at some point cars will not have them and that's a small worry.

Of course the bleeding funeral is on the day I have a ticket booked for a Brian Cox show in Liverpool, isn't it. It's looking ever more likely that it will be rescheduled.

With hubby being bad with Covid , ( but my test being negative on Saturday ) I did another test today just incase.....Positive ...I have it again!

When I had it last year I was really rough for a fortnight , but this time I'm perfectly fine except for a sneezing fit just . Infact I was only thinking on Friday walking by the sea in Paignton when hubby was holed up in bed , that it's the best I've felt for a long time!

Wondering whether you can still have flu jabs soon after recovering from Covid ??? (I know you can't have the covid jabs within 4 weeks) . Was supposed to be having my flu jab on the 20th...

Exactly. Those that really know me have seen my phone, know I am still in the dark ages, it isn't quite a 3310, but it int far off. I can make and receive calls and texts and take photos of cats. That is it.
Eldests Fiesta has a cd player, they don't use it, they link their phones up to the car. You can do that in my Bobby, but I'm f@*7£d if I know how to.

Years ago in the early 70's , I used to have a battery operated portable radio on my passenger seat. Came in quite handy when approaching speed traps (Cops used to stand on the side of the road with speed guns in those days) as it used to crackle when it picked up their waves...

I remember a speed trap on Baswich Lane in the mid-70s, on a Monday morning, hiding by the post box at the end of Chartwell Road. They caught loads, who were pulled in at the church car park and done.

I was safe, as I was pulling out of Porlock Avenue, so I saw them and I was not going to be going that fast before I passed them anyway.

"Oh, well", people thought, "we'll be OK for a while now".

Then, they did it again on the Wednesday morning and caught a load more - some repeats.

And again on the Friday....

They need to be doing that again now.

It's not the speeders I worry about as much, they tend to at least be looking at the road not their phones. Nearly got took out on the way back from Chester by a woman who merged onto the M6 directly level with me while staring at hers, no idea if she expected me to slow down for her (but I had cars front and back) or was just completely unaware. Even after I swerved and the car behind beeped she seemed oblivious.
