Dad's being treated for a double infection, severe dehydration, probable malnutrition and is going to have tests to see how far the infections have spread. They are going to see if his very rapid decline has another cause or if it is just a sad advancement of his condition.
Mom's gone into denial and went around telling folk he might be home after the weekend and got my Eldest to change the bed and make up his side ready complete with pads ready for him to come home. Both my brother and I have said over our dead bodies.

More seasonal and cheerful news Spawn3 has one of her dates today, so I've a morning of bowling and lunch at Bella Italia to look forward to. Hanging out with the future in laws while we loosely supervise the lovebirds. Both youngsters have Autism and other needs before anyone thinks we are being weird lol. He did propose last time for in a few years as he put it lol so I guess they are engaged to be engaged, pre-engaged?

Postie has just been with a big pile of christmas cards and a bank statement dated last month . At least the christmas cards just about made it before the end of the year! (Worcester sorting office has had massive problems for months, and apparently for weeks the posties were told to leave the normal post behind and just deliver parcels  )

Woke up this morning with a headful of snot.

Had a lie-in.

Been getting a bit worse through the day - just had a roaring fire in the Shed and pottered about.

Started getting a bit shivery.

A load of chicken soup with hot-buttered toast now.

Feeling a bit better now, but an early night beckons.

Glad it was me going carefully watching for cats & dogs spooked by fireworks , rather than the nutters speeding around here just, as I picked son up....a little old fox sauntered across so slowly in front of us . Then he just stood on the side of the road watching us move off again.
Encountered some rather nutty drivers tonight on the short journey, including one who just suddenly stopped dead as he went around the island . Luckily the car in front of me had his head screwed on and managed to stop.

Hope you feel better soon @Gramaisc

Went into Sainsburys yesterday, just a few bits n bobs. Nothing special.
1 of the blokes was stacking a shelf with Easter Eggs. When I commented on it, he said If he had a pound for everytime someone had mentioned it, he could have afforded to have gone home for rest of the day.

If it's any consolation mine is easing off a bit so hopefully you'll be feeling better in a few days. Guinness may help.

I did plan on having a flagpole up in time for the fiftieth anniversary, but that has not happened in time..
