bloody hell , hubby & son are in the wrong jobs!Starting salary for a teacher is £28,000 middle child's starting salary (3 years ago) was NEARLY 3 times that...you're right, but it is what it is.
Great news , fingers crossed for minime .Congratulations!!!! Amazing news!! Fingers and toes crossed!!
Fingers crossed for minime for Wednesday.Shhh.... Proud mum news...... minime, who was going to uni to do a teaching degree this year, also applied for a *commercial finance apprenticeship degree with HSBC in November, after many many interviews and tests, she's through to the final interview. Everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed for next wednesday!
*Middle son qualified as a teacher just before covid, then was head hunted for a NatWest commercial finance graduate degree....he got through too after months of interviews.....the starting salary is nearly 3 times his teachers salery would have been!
I'm not sure where all my kids get their brains (but I know where they get their work ethic) from but I'm so proud of all 3!
Shut up! Your always on your jolly's, holidays, meals & trips out....mmmmm....I'm swapping lives with you @staffordjas !bloody hell , hubby & son are in the wrong jobs!
That's only because of sitting in our coats to save heating costs & living on beans on toast for years to survive when we got married and mortgage rates shot up from 13.5% to 15%.Shut up! Your always on your jolly's, holidays, meals & trips out....mmmmm....I'm swapping lives with you @staffordjas !
Yes but don't forget all the disasters you'd have to deal with on a daily basis...Shut up! Your always on your jolly's, holidays, meals & trips out....mmmmm....I'm swapping lives with you @staffordjas !
Still, I'm moving in with you. That's only because of sitting in our coats to save heating costs & living on beans on toast for years to survive when we got married and mortgage rates shot up from 13.5% to 15%.
Only living a decent later life now due to saving every penny we can for 40 years , only one small 7 Yr old car car between us ( which is going to have to last us), and inheritance from my parents deaths.
Hubby doesn't even have a mobile phone now to save costs. He uses mine.
Yes she's still doing her bit to help clear Stafford's roads and footpaths@Thehooperman is Bee still making yellow snow? Made me giggle
We have lots of snow & ice in front of the house, if she needs more places to go!Yes she's still doing her bit to help clear Stafford's roads and footpaths
We're no where near well off and living as we always have done for over 40 years.Still, I'm moving in with you.
Still moving in with you.....We're no where near well off and living as we always have done for over 40 years.
Son had xmas presents & clothes from jumble sales. Hubby's car was sold to carpet the house ( which was still there 40 yrs later when we sold up)
We stretched ourselves to move down here, only possible because my parents left me a part of their house ( not all of it as they didn't like me) to be nearer to son , we're his only family.
Hubby's dad died in his 40's, his mum at 60.
My parents have both died and hubby is on borrowed time nearing 66 with his heart condition. I get the bus to town with my OAP pass to carry stuff back from Aldi to save money. I walk 3 miles to Lidl & Sainsburys most times to carry stuff back to save petrol money.
The one week in Paignton self catering again this year looks to be cancelled with a big water leak to be paid for.
We don't put the heating on til night.
But we are enjoying our life being near to son and seeing him more often now
So the bit of luxury of a night out in the pub occasionally is hard earned and a bonus.
Over & out .
But you try telling that to the kids of today. We're no where near well off and living as we always have done for over 40 years.

Are tourists the ones who live further away than you ?Lovely crisp walk over the Chase this morning. It's great when it's freezing because you don't get any tourists.
