Enjoying a drop of red.
Well....f'in fuming! Just been to check my bin after hubby put it back out earlier this morning. More bloody crap in, including bottles with contents in dripping into out into my bin, and broken bottles as well as other dirty containers. I wash my bin out every time its emptied , now got to watch all the bloody broken glass in it as well as it now stinking to high heaven . :grr: Contents back in the offenders bins ....easy to find who it is with the addresses on the parcel boxes inside!!!
Maybe have a word with them?

Today I saw upwards of 100 pigeons on the entrance to the Wagon and Horses by the Eccleshall/Stone road. Was a bit surreal.

Saw those yesterday, it was some old chap throwing a large amount of bird food on the pavement outside the entrance to the Wagon

Some annoying pedant will be along shortly, I'm sure, to point out that, in this specific case, "waggon" has a double 'g'.

Is the Waggon still open? I thought it closed down years ago (maybe just when they saw me coming... ). Used to go in often many moons ago, and always found it a spooky atmosphere in there .

I was going to today if they appeared while I was disinfecting the bin as it absolutely stunk. If they had seen what a foul mood I was in bringing it back down, they were probably hiding. Don't think they would take much notice though. Once 'borrowed' another neighbours brown bin and filled it with rubble, so neighbour not so happy to arrive home to find it still full with a 'Too heavy and unsuitable contents' notice on it. Still happened again

Decided more important things than getting my blood pressure up over annoying people. Just heard a nice bloke I used to talk to on my walks has died. :(

Took this pix in August 2018 during a long walk around the east side of the town. Couldn't get over how the view of that roundabout had changed from what I remember. The Waggon looks a bit cleaner here …. is it still open as a pub ?

It's still open as a pub, the pigions are always there, fed by some randomer..... I last went in there in the early 2000's to a party, sticky carpets, 70's decor....cant imagine its changed much since

Spent most of tonight at Stafford A & E as minime decided to fracture her wrist, great service as usual even though we were there 3 & 1/2 hrs..... However it was so sad to see that every corridor was stuffed full of lines of people on trolleys waiting for treatment or a bed... I've never seen it like that before, bloke I spoke to said that Stoke has double lines waiting.... This is what you voted for people! :emo:

I must have last gone in there around 1979 when I first met hubby, that was one of our pub crawl pubs at the time. Sounds like it hasn't changed much then. (Always think of that pub whilst watching some of the 'Most Haunted' programs in pubs. Really did feel spooky the times we were in there)

In the 1960s there were reports of voices heard in the cellar of the Waggon & Horses when no one was in there, dogs refused to go into the cellar and furniture was moved round in the bar when it was unoccupied. Or so people said.

Thought I remembered something about that!

With dogs refusing to go into the cellar....reminds me of the time hubbys works on Astonfields was said to be haunted. The alarms went off one night and the cops came with the dogs. The dogs refused to go down one of the corridors, which turned out one of those said to be haunted by an old salt miner. They never did find what had set the alarms off in the first place.:mystery:

Anyway , years later I went to pick hubby up from an overtime shift on a saturday, and whilst waiting for him to finish I nipped to the loo. Didn't know that was the corridor where the police dog freaked out! Had our dog with me as well, so took her along on her lead . Suddenly half way down the corridor to the toilets our dog dug her heels in , the hairs on her back went up (most unusual for her) and refused to go further. Took her back to hubbys office and he said that was the same place the police dogs refused to go any further.:o
Always scared nipping to the loo ever since when I've visited him at work .
