I've spent much of my life asleep, working, with family and following other interests and so several hours a week over fifty years never amounted to "your life in a pub"
If I was "unable to drink anymore" I would probably be unable to get to a pub.
From the posts you make on here it comes across that going to the pub is all you do. Your answer ties in with my own thoughts though, will I enjoy the pub without alcohol? A year ago I'd think not a chance, now I'm curious but afraid that in reality my enjoyment was tied to a dependency on alcohol.

I used to quite often go to the pub and not drink any alcohol, especially at lunchtimes and can't say it made much difference to my enjoyment of the setting and company.

However, the short of pub that Mudgie seems to enjoy going to, would require a massive consumption of alcohol to enjoy (or more importantly, to forget) so I can see where he's coming from.

There can be many reasons for the abstinent approach.
They may be alcoholics.
They may have medical issues.

Etc.
We have just discharged a man from our care who drank everyday. 18 pints of lager+ was nothing to him.
At the age of 73 he has Korsakoffs, an alcohol related dementia. It's on the increase in males.

How can anyone drink 18 pints of lager in a day? Even if you ignore the alcohol, just that liquid consumption would mean you were constantly going to the loo and possibly in serious health danger.

If over a whole day then doable? I used to drink 8 cans a night after work, so one every 30 mins.

A "dependency on alcohol" can be serious.
It's probably my history of only drinking alcohol in moderation that means I've not missed it or thought of getting any in the house these past several months.
As I've mentioned before it's the proper pubs and company therein that I miss.

Seems like there's a lot more police around these days, saw at least 7 cop cars on my walk, some could be the same ones use to see about 1 at most.

Normally see flashing lights at least once too, keep thinking ooo they've caught someone breaking the restrictions haha
