Something happening at the Beaconside cop shop, they're all lined at the edge of the road leading round from the Weston Road gate.

Either they're going in heavy on who they put in front of a firing squad, or someone "important" is visiting
New PCC?

Good news, bees are generally relatively cheap to remove, as beekeepers will come and collect them to put in a hive. Not always free, but probably cheaper than pest removal (and you shouldn’t be killing bees anyway!)

Not sure if that’s something @Sbisme does but they might know someone who can do it
We've had bees living in the eaves above our bedroom window for a few years, they're no bother, apart from being noisy early in the morning if it's warm out. I buy this netting from Amazon to put over the opening windows to stop them (& anything else) from getting in.

We've had them on and off for years now, often in different places around the house and garden. Not seen them this year so it might be an off year or I just haven't seen them yet. They never do any harm, never leave a mess and don't come into the house when they've been in a wall. They were in one of our composters last year, they even let us go up to them and a couple of times we took the lid off. So unless you poke them they won't even get defensive. We really enjoy watching them though. My advice is enjoy them while you have them and they'll move along come autumn.
We've got ground nesting or miner bees in our back garden and they're no trouble at all.

I gave the Shed fire a 'good clean' yesterday, on the basis that I might not be using it much from here on.

I am currently trapped in the Shed, with a roaring fire, watching the torrential rain outside and eating a sausage roll.

And the Robins are sitting on the Greenhouse gutters, staring at me, in an attempt to make me feel guilty.

Something you may have noticed I mentioned earlier was how I "never have the window open" in that room. Well, whilst in the process of investigating where the bees around the outside of the window were going, I noticed that the inside of the frame is surrounded by black mould, mostly around the bit behind the blinds that I can't get to. Not a problem, I've ordered some supposedly good stuff to get rid of it tomorrow night; good ventilation is obviously going to be important, so let me get that checklist sorted....

- Bucket of water
- Disposable rags
- Mask
- Gloves
- Goggles
- Beekeeper outfit

The black mould may be caused by the fact that you...

Ah yeah I assumed that was the case. Going to invest in a dehumidifier and leave the window on the latch in the future for at least some of the day
ventilation is the key. If you can’t lock a top opener in the vent position try getting trickle vents fitted to the frame. They’re easily fitted on new windows & can be retro-fitted to most up Vic windows & some wooden frames.

Regretting not getting a phone with a good camera now.
Enjoying watching my resident hedgehog feeding on the bird seed, loaded with sunflower seeds, on the lawn. He/ she is moving around at a fair old speed, hoovering them all up Hoping me now missing one of my saucers is appreciated , as it's in the flower bed providing it's nightly drink of water.

A day of stress levels shooting through the roof. New washing machine finally arrived and installed. Sussed it out to attack the mountains of washing built up waiting for it's arrival, except for accidentally discovering it's got a child lock. Kids would have probably got it unlocked quicker than us

In addition upgraded my mobile phone today as well, so lots of googling on the laptop asking 'how do I....' Think I'm sorted , and the checking it's all set up properly can be sons first job when he visits on Monday :D

Ours has, also conked out today, it's useable until we get a new one, I hope... Washing machine shopping to come..

Today I painted a fence and a gate, at the end of this my back decided to go into spasm.... After having over-the-phone physio for it for the last year & a half I asked to be released in February as I didn't see the point in physio over the phone with someone who had never seen or examined me.... How stupid was that decision?

It's training day at my Dr's today, so I have to wait till tomorrow to see if they will see (?) me.... Just as I'm supposed to start my week at work... Somehow I don't think that's, going to happen... But can I even afford to be off work ill? .... Aggghhhh!
