After it hopping around me whilst I was on my knees gardening earlier, I've got a blackbird who is insisting on coming inside the house.
Had a feeling of being watched earlier , and there it was sitting on the windowsill looking in. A few times since it's been there tapping away at the glass.

Daren't open the windows now or might have a repeat of the bat flying around the lounge a few years ago .

What's going on with the ATM's today, husband went to Sainsbury, Tesco, Asda, Co-op & then mini Tesco before he could get cash out.... And mini-tesco were only giving cash in 5ers!

Takeaway, they don't seem to accept card payments..... The same with my hairdressers & husbands barbers...... Can't think why.... :heyhey:

Sounds like a great way to not get as much business. If you don’t take card, I simply take my business elsewhere.

Cash, what is this thing you speak of? :)
Lots of places in Poole a couple of weeks ago were only taking card payments. Glad I had some cash in my purse though, as the icecream place on the seafront only took cash!

(I always used to get cash out from the post office each month to pay for most things , but since the start of covid have only used cards . except of course for those icecreams on both latest holidays in Poole , and a stamp for a birthday card . )

Found out today the birthday card for hubbys work colleague , which I had a walk in torrential rain last week to post to arrive in time and trying to keep my newly done hair do intact whilst doing so , actually arrived too early. He wished her a Happy Birthday whilst at work today . She said thanks ,he's got the day of month right but a month too early .

Mr. Nice had a business selling stamps to a collector's market.

Mr. NotsoNice has a network of Barber's shops.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Having just set up we're having a sit in the shade under the awning (which jammed yet again, bloody Yank tech). At Silverstone with jr until Monday morning. Looks like it's going to be a cracking weekend weather-wise. Fridge and freezer well stocked with the essentials for a lads weekend though I'm hoping we won't really be needing to self-cater, other than breakfast as a friend of mine has kindly given us Paddock Club passes for the three days.

Endless food, an open bar, great weather and some top notch motor racing, what more could anyone need?

Taking the bikes out to explore the area in a bit before wine o'clock.

WOW it's a burner today :) At 9am it was 32ºC, (that's about 90º in old money) in my conservatory and that's with all the shades down. I've got more fan propellers going than a four engined Russian bomber. I had thought of cycling into Bude for some odds and ends but thinking about those ups and downs I chickened out and drove instead. It was very busy, lot of visitors down.

Few more days of this according to the Met gang, ... I'm well up for it. ;)

Mundane, mundane, mundane.....

Not!

Today I mowed the grass in the back garden! Its been bugging me for weeks as 'someone' doesn't do it as well as me.... It was part of my celebrations of being finally set free from the Dr's & hospital!

My inflammation levels are still high, and I've been told to expect breathing problems & coughing for the next 6 - 8 weeks...... But, I can return to work if I choose next week! (they did state this VERY carefully!)....

All afternoon I've thought about the fact I can now go out to places if I want.... And you know what? There's literally nowhere I want to go! How sad am I?!

Chuffed I'm finally free from covid tests, blood tests, and medical appointments though.

It isn't sad lovie, I know how ill you've been, but I do have admit, I've missed you at your workplace.
What concerns me is this lifting of the mask wearing. I just hope Sainsburys carry it on.

We had word today that staff will be encouraged to continue wearing masks, along with customers too (but, it's not compulsory for anyone) .... But the door monitoring stops as of Monday so I'm not sure how it'll be implemented.... Which is me buggered, as I was going to volunteer to be door monitor as I would be in the fresh air, which helps with my coughing.

In fact this is one of the things I'm worried about (wearing a mask & coughing)... I was fine outside most of the day, but now I'm in the house I've coughed for the last hour. Everyone will be running for the hills!

Based on reading the comments under a post that Lidl put up, encouraging mask-wearing in their stores, it would seem that quite a lot of people won't be making the effort...

Not the most scientific of studies perhaps - it will be interesting to see what happens - and what results from it.

Already there are a lot more folk maskless and nobody is challenging them so i guess retail will have directives from head office to say that staff can mask up if they wish but customers are to be left alone

Customers defiantly won't bother, it's been a struggle to get them to when it has been the rules, so I don't hold out much hope.

I'm sure they will all be giving me a wide berth anyhow :urgh::urgh::urgh:

I've still only seen one maskless adult in a shop here - last year - and he's been told in no uncertain terms that he's not coming back in there without a mask until the guidance chances.

It's getting more and more common now to see children with masks in shops.

No shops here that I've seen have anybody enforcing any of this.

I think most retailers are pretty desperate to get customers back spending with Christmas (yeah i said it) on the horizon so they will back off any intrusive restrictions and just pay lip service with some signage although it would help if they would turn the A/C on to max and cool things down
