I might upset a few here, but what is the point of these reveal parties?
What has happened to the good old fashioned, wait till the baby is born to find out the sex of it? I know some like to plan in advance the colour scheme, Pink for the girl, Blue for a boy.
There is no element of surprise in anything these days.

The surprise will be on the next scan when the other three stop hiding behind the first one :)

Had the youngest 30 and a bit years ago, 3 more above him. Never wanted to know the sex of any of them. We'd already chosen a couple of names. As I said, there's no surprise in anything these days.
I'd never heard of 'Reveal Parties' until our new neighbours had one last year .

Only scans I had were to make sure baby was ok , more regular than most as I was a 'geriatric mum' at 40 and bigger risk of birth defects and miscarriage (That's when I started on Marmite...The vitamin B3 supposed to help , and I'd already lost his twin in the earlier weeks) .

Even up to the time they never asked if we wanted to know the sex. We just thought everyone had a surprise like us at the time . Just bought white and lemon for the first lot of clothing .

We also started off with Terries nappies , but soon changed to the disposable ones. Not a waste buying them though....The pack of 40 Terries have been used for window and car cleaning towels since , and still got 6 left that I'm using over 25 years later .

That's another American idea that's come over here, and don't get me started on the end of school Prom night.
What ever happened to the good old school disco? Everyone wore jeans, we all got off our heads on cheap cider. And you stood and laughed at all the teachers doing Mum & Dad dancing.

My neice went to her 'Prom' in a dress costing over £1.500!! Never mind the limo her Dad hired for her. A dress, I might add, that has never seen the light of day since.

I have had a fire in the Shed today - intentionally - for the first time since late May, I think..

There's a few dodgy lumps of diseased and wormy wood that might as well go whilst they are still dry and it had a decidedly autumnal feel this morning.

Went into the new pet food shop in town today.

The carer asked the young staff member (about 12yrs old) if they stocked *Holistic cat food. I've never seen anyone look so confused by a question.... 'what do you mean by that' she said...

*years ago, when eldest cat was run over, she wouldn't eat... At 'pets at home' we found 'Puerly' holistic cat food.... Their ocean flavour was the only thing she would eat, so she became holistic-disability-cat.... She's not disabled, just pretends she is.... Last week she was back on the run fur 5 days, so needs some extra food now we've caught her, only they've discontinued the holistic ocean tins....

Was having a nice little chat with myself about what Lush product to use in my bath - turned round and husband was in hysterics outside watching me natter away.
I gave him the middle finger and told him it's rude to listen to other people's conversations!
Honestly!

Have you tried the Bath Bomb from Home and Bargins with the flashing light inside ? totally mad !

Enjoying a drop of red.
Spent the day at Blenheim Palace with Mrs p. Very enjoyable, particularly when the sun finally came out. I was semi working so I drove. She may have slightly over indulged on the Champagne. Still, that meant she slept all the way back so I could listen to what I wanted to and drive how I wanted.

Back again to Blenheim at sparrow fart on Saturday, with p jr.
