I tried contacts years ago. They had to be the 'hard' variety for some reason so they weren't very pleasant to put in or take out. I stuck with them for a while, then one day on a run ashore in Ozzie I forgot about them and dived into an outdoor swimming pool.

It was in one of the ports up on the North West Coast loading iron ore. When I came up to the surface, the bloody lenses were gone !! .. probably still floating around in that pool somewhere.

I gave up on them after that.

I've got my opticians readers for best , then several cheapo pairs off the shelf for around the house , in the car, in my bag. I can still never find them
I broke the arm off the Specsavers ones, went to Selectspecs for the spares. There is no difference, frames are exactly the same.

Son's told me that he has a TV crew filming at his works tomorrow. One of the girls working there has got through to the final stages to get on 'The Voice' so they are coming to film where she works . I don't watch 'The Voice' normally, but will watch it when she's on to see if I can see son on telly ! :D
