I'm a Rec kid. Carbolic is like candy floss to us Rec Kids. We washed our gobs out with weapons grade plutonium. (Although we generally did it in the safety of the bunker.)

Not that I know anything about anything, but having been a member of the forum for a long time I know @Withnail can be great fun!

We all must remember that lockdown and the pandemic has been hard on us all, and we have coped in different ways.

It's obvious sleep doesn't come as easy to some as others, and things can come across different via text.

I'm not taking one side or another but I urge you ALL to be kind to one another xxx

I had to sleep on this before I could reply.

I’ve also met @Withnail in real life, a few years ago now and really liked him. He’s always been a bit off the wall but in the last year something has definitely changed.
I’ve generally ignored personal comments or tried to make light of things but sometimes, just sometimes, people need to be called out on their bad behaviour.

You’re quite correct in that the pandemic is affecting people in different ways, but stress and unhappiness are no excuse to be blatantly rude to other people.
Being kind works both ways, Many people are stressed, worried about money, grieving or just living their lives in quiet desperation.
His comments might be just enough to tip someone over the edge.

To wake up in the morning and be told “You’re a fu**ing disgrace” was quite shocking and very upsetting, and obviously very personal to me. I’m not going to sit here and just ignore that even if that was the most sensible thing to do.

He doesn’t know what’s going on in my life anymore than we know what’s going on in his.
So yes, let’s all be kind please.

I'm really sorry, I didn't realise the post was directed at you! I thought it was just a general ramble!

Name calling is unacceptable.

Stafford Forum is an amazing place and no one should be made to feel uncomfortable or insulted.

There is a Chinese proverb which says...

'When two hippos are yaring don't stick your oar in'
(Google has no results but I swear it's in a book my mum owns!)

Perhaps I should heed this advice!!
