Started doing a bit of aerial work about midday. Stuck it out for a couple of hours but then had to call it off, that Sun is a real pounder today. So I've retreated behind a wall of cold beers.

21.7 degrees in Chasewater this morning, I almost wanted to jump in too...View attachment 10991
How did Mr Lucy get on today?

I got the feeling that the swimming bit would be the best bit!
I absolutely can't imagine running and cycling in today's heat. Husband said that he thought that there would be loads of heat stroke casualties.
Just wondered how it all panned out.

He did it in about 6 hours 20. his target was 6 hours. He was ahead of schedule after the bike but he was very sensible on the run and walked up the hills. I managed to see him at the castle both times then actually ran through the alley to Castletown with him on the way down. I've never seen him so tired though.

I had to go and pick up the curry.

The 4am start, and taking a tumble when running after him at the Chasewater transition (possibly breaking his camera...) is what took it out of me. I'm off for a soak!

Molly the cat has been showing her age recently, she can no longer jump up on the utility worktop where her bed is without an intermediate step. She hasn't been about much the last few days and I thought the heat was really getting to her. I've just been for a walk up the garden and counted 4 dead rodent bodies, so I shouldn't have been too concerned.

Nearly the same with our Sophie...

I happen to know that @peggy was part of a three-person team that each did one of the three sections.

Peggy did the swimming bit.

Peggy is not an idiot...

Managed to get out early to go and get a swingball set from my motorhome which was duly ignored by the grandson and heir. The only impact I saw of Iron man was Highfield Grove being used as a cut through so assume Rising Brook was busy.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Early start this morning. Packed up and left Silverstone by 6am with a nice quiet run seeing us back at base near Shrewsbury by 8am. Spot of work done before junior and I head up to Formby now in time for low tide and meet up with Mrs p and the pooches.

Although last night she stayed out all night, we can't find her anywhere. Which means she's not had her medicine, which in turn means she'll be ill for around a week when she does turn up.
I hope she's okay.

Molly is hiding under the blackcurrant bush, and the bodies have disappeared. I don't think these 2 things are connected, and expect the local feral may have taken them.

Drove down to sons with my Vax machine while he was out at work all day , did his carpets and helped clear his trees and bushes he'd tidied up and piled in the corner of the garden as he couldn't fit it all in his bin.
Picked up a pile of leaves to shove into bags and a 'leaf' jumped out of my hands :o... this little fella....

After my initial scream , had to work gingerly around him as he kept leaping around as I worked . Drove back down the motorway with a car full of bags which I hoped didn't contain any of his mates ! (Waiting for the phone call from hubby tomorrow when he goes off to work in the car , if any have stowed away and evaded eviction during the car spring-clean when I got home . )

Has she turned back up @littleme ? Hope she's ok .
Yes, she appeared in the garden at mid-day, so I grabbed her, she's now back in her crate*, with her pills & food so hopefully only missing one lot won't do too much harm.

*Sophie has a large dog crate as her boudoir, big enough for her bed, litter tray, room to move and her food and water. She sleeps locked in there at night so that the 2 other cats don't eat her special elderly cat food which we put her pills in!

Well done to Mr @Lucy and @peggy
