Went out to try and do a bit more aerial work. Some sawing of the mount for an active aerial. Gave it up after 20 minutes and retreated into the house. Ra the Sun God seems pissed off about something !!
Even the ceiling fan sounded tired shuffling warm air around so I had to dig out an old pedestal fan that's got a 'warp factor' setting which is noisy, but gives a much appreciated blast of air.
I swore not to moan about the weather given the long locked in winter we've had, but if this keeps up, I might have to refrigerate my bunker. :o

Proud mum moment this morning, minime's year head phoned me to say he had received an email praising minime and her work eithic and all the help she has given to the local primary school in the last two weeks, she's received excellent references from lots of different teachers there as she's helped with year 2 and other years too in the last 2 weeks and 2 days on work experiance...

Not bad considering she arranged it all herself while I was in hospital, after missing out on work experience in year 10. Very proud!

*the only other person I've heard of that's done any work experience is @proactive 's lad and his mate, well done to them to!

Incredibly thankful for the pool (just a steel frame, I’m not made of money) today. I’ve been down in Digbeth in a baking warehouse/venue all day, got home at 8pm. The pool was surprisingly warm, took a dip at 9 and it was mighty comfortable, and really really needed it after the day I’ve had

My outside thermometer is reading 30ºC .... (86ºF) and that's in the shade (which a thermometer should be.) Even the quarter mile walk back to the car from the Quacks was overheating my bone marrow. Not one wind turbine is turning, even the big one at the back of my place and that usually turns if a gnat farts.

I think today might surpass yesterday. :o

Having had proper heatstroke once and not intending to have a second go at it, I've been trying to avoid the potential for it.

We currently have the met service here indicating a 32℃ a few miles from here.

I've been running a works programme which is defined by the shadows available at the time.

This morning, I was able to do the western side of the bottom of a north-south running hedge - but, even then, I had one shoulder out in the Sun by the far end.

Heatstroke is a bit like hypoxia, but no so fast - you really don't see it coming yourself, until it's too late. Any suspicions and you need to take action now.

The Accidental Flower Bed has come along nicely in the end.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Just back from a walk with the pooches along the dunes. Now sitting in the garden bat watching with a pint of iced water for refreshment and a lovely sea-breeze. Cool...

It's so hot, my chins are stuck to my chest, my chest is stuck to my belly and my belly is stuck to my knees, my bum is also sticking to my heels.
I just started reading the posts from the bottom of the screen upwards. So now have a vision of @Glam as on the latest post

Well, know I can't depend on hubby in an emergency...

He was in bed and upstairs smoke alarm started going off. I raced upstairs to see which one. He was just lying there in bed saying " What the hell was that?"
Told him smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm going off......." Oh , ok" and goes back to sleep :ohno:
( You'd have thought that with my parents house catching fire years ago, and only the fact the smoke alarms saved theirs and their dogs lives, he'd have at least took it seriously and got up to check! )

At least , apart from the telly feeling very hot when I turned it off, all seems OK....:hmm:
