Enjoying a drop of red.
Headed down to the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge yesterday for a 10am meeting. Mrs p came as well as she had booked herself a couple of hours of drifting practice there whilst I had my meeting.

Due to the Insulation Eco Mentalists we went by motorbike to at least give us a chance of minimising delays if the twats decided to block the M25 again. Mrs p is not a proponent of the traveling light philosophy so we only just managed to cram all of the 'essentials' into the panniers.

Afterwards we headed into the smoke and made our way to Chelsea for the flower show. It was really lovely but we were knackered after four hours or so slow walking around the place. We decide we'd need to come back and do a few hours the next day as well in order to do it justice.

Managed to get some tickets that had been returned to the box office, so set about trying to find a place to stay for the night after cancelling the place in the Cotswolds we had originally planned to stay at. Not surprisingly a good many places were full but we managed to get a decent room at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel. This turned out to be an inspired choice, as not only was the restaurant excellent, with some really good wines too but the place has a private underground car park, so we had somewhere to leave the bike securely.

After a massive, late, top notch breakfast we ended up spending another 4 hours or so at the show just pottering around before a quick blast home, avoiding as many motorways as reasonably possible. Really great couple of days.

Day off as well tomorrow for me so win, win all round.

Virgin Media saga now completed, hopefully.

Bloke turned up today to switch the phone line we don't use over to fibre. Plugged it into a dummy hub because we don't have broadband with them.

Took him 10 minutes. Promptly unplugged it all when he left and put everything back how it was. Job done.

Out of curiosity how bad were the petrol pumps today?
BP was crap.

Today's my payday, every payday I put £20.00 petrol in my car (yes, that lasts me all month), today when I finished work I went to BP (It's on the way home) - there was a queue onto the main Rd (A34) mostly caused by an ignorant twit in a tiny car who decided to wait for the very first pump - whilst completely blocking the entrance to get to any of the 4 other pumps available...

Having a small car, I managed to squeeze past him and was 2nd in line at a pump further up, when I left, stupid red car had moved, and at least 4 cars were waiting at each pump, and the queue backed down the A34.

Idiots.

This also happened with toilet roll, I went to Home Bargains, which I do every payday, to buy my normal pack of 9 rolls..... None to be found, only small 4 packs - lady said shoppers have been painic buying again, as they have in my store (but not with toilet roll in ours!). In fact there's been a large increase in shoppers in my place in the last few days.... I didn't really think of that till just now.

***ohh, just remembered, they weren't just FILLING (I mean FULL) their cars, they were filling Jerry can after Jerry can too....

I discovered that you are allowed to keep up to thirty litres of petrol at home, outside of a vehicle tank, without informing anybody.

That's rather more than I expected, to be honest - beyond that, you can keep up to 275 litres, but you need to fill in some forms.

Anybody panic-buying electricity?
