I've also heard it called "Slash Street" but i thought it was for a different reason, I was told it was a popular 'watering point' when you left the Reynolds Bar at 2 in the morning!!sandy said:It wasn't called 'Slash' street for nothing.
D'oh, no she aint. Thats her niece, doesn't time fly!tek-monkey said:Well I actually just ran into the girl who found it, lol. She's at the college.
I had two uniformed officers call at my house to ask me if I could identify my wheelie bin with confidence. I showed them the holes that I had drilled to stop the lid freezing shut and the four inch high numbers which corresponded to the number on my front door. They were about to go away happy that I could vouch for it, until I asked them if they were going to have identity parades for the bins that had no proof of identity.dirtybobby said:yeah, i remember the wheelie bin murder.. massive news at the time - it seemed like everyone who told the story knew someone related to the incident somehow!
The woman in question was 39, Marion O`Neill/ Alcock is her married name, had 2 boys and her bf was 23 at the time, he was cleared of everything, she was found at the back of my aunts house in oxford gardens/ service ally, and my mom was one of her best friends until 18 and then they lost touch, can anyone tell me if they ever found her killer???years and years ago, possibly almost 20 years no a body was found in a wheelie bin at the back of my parents' house in the service alley, this was on oxford gardens though, doubt it was related.

I used to work with Marion at St. Georges, lovely, lovely woman. But I honestly can't remember if they caught anyone for her death.
I thought the bloke, that was found actually pushing the wheelie bin with her body in was arrested?
... can anyone tell me if they ever found her killer???
The first two links are in post #9 on <page1.I googled around a bunch and it was her boyfriend...
there was another murder that end of town when the body had been kept in the upstairs bedroom for a long time - i think it was a young lad that was murdered. Shame all this doom and gloom and peoples lives wrecked.
No64 Marston Road? I house shared there for 18months not long after I left my ex. The murdered man wasn't living there at the time. I believe my landlord sold it and the owner at the time was the alledged murderer??That could have been at the top of Marston Road?
sorry only logged on again now, no my mom moved 2 northern ireland and brought us up here, id like 2 know what happened my moms best friend, we still have family in oxford gardens though...Blimey @charliem66 you've dragged this 1 up a bit ain't ya?

thanks, i would really like 2 tell my mom that someone was convicted, i searched 4 hours 2 even find this forum!I googled around a bunch and it was her boyfriend (Lesley, he was 23 at the time) who was arrested and charged for obstructing the coroner (?) and pilfering a few quid from her bank account post death but he was later cleared of involvement... other than that there appears to be no record of this crime online. This would probably need someone to investigate local records in person as they don't appear to be online.

can u tell me if the person was marion? and who was convicted? thanksI knew both the person who found the body and the person who was prosecuted for it. It was mid 90s, can't remember the exact date but I'd say approx '94. Pretty sure it was the year before I started uni anyway.
