A related question.

My partners laptop has 2 keys that no longer work after a spillage. Is that a new keyboard jobby, or likely to be something else? What's the potential cost and how long would it take to look at? She is loath to be parted for her laptop for any length of time in case a work opportunity pops up that she misses.

Yes just a replacement keyboard. If you provide make and model number I could give you a price. If she then wanted it doing you could hang onto it until keyboard arrives and I could fit it same day when it does.
