My New Website....Constructive Criticism?

You need to give each page a different title, for example if you look at Black and Purple Sinamay Rose Comb Fascinator that should be in the title of that page, by doing this Google and the other search engines will crawl and index more pages of your website, also I assume that Black and Purple Sinamay Rose Comb Fascinator is a well known product in the hat trade if say someone types in Black Rose Comb Fascinator you come a very good 2nd in Google but the page has lots of links to Facebook, far better to link to some products so that people can buy them, you have one small link at the top for your shop.

I hope this helps.

What I was told to do was knock on everyones door in the steet and ask to see my website on their computer/laptop/iphone/tablet/ipad/televison...

It is remarkable to see how completely different a site can look in each individual home

I must say, i did a quick proof-read, found nothing but a strange desire to buy a hat.

Given you touch upon the process, is it not worth expanding on't if time and space allow - for example very niche Grunal Moneta gives a background to his product that is worth a look on its own.

History of Millinery?

Anything for the punters, what?

ive already had a lot of criticism that it is too wordy so i have to admit that i am loath to do too much more....plus, i dont want to be giving away my how too secrets! ;)

im glad part of it worked....i can do mens hats too ;)

thanks for the additional feedback

Hello

I have just had a look. I think it's an easy to navigate website and looking good. Works fine in Firefox also which is good to see.

not too wordy for me but would want to see the fascinators ( why do i want to call them scarifiers?) in more detail - it can feel a little like you are looking to buy a manequin..

...But then i dont buy hats and I have been to the pub

Congrats by the way - I remember you asking the same quest with your earlier site and this one looks much more professional!

thanks john....pub or no pub, useful stuff.

your comments about the size of the photos have been mentioned in other places i have sought a critique...and i shall be taking it up with frooly.

everything has been designed via a template format and i have no control of the 'shop' design aspect.

i asked a while back about being able to add more photos (i use 5 on folksy) so that i can provide a better overview of the items and ive been told this is in the pipeline.

there are some more pages tp be added and tinkered with over the weekend and im hoping to resolve some of the issues via this.

@tom, yep, its works like a dream in firefox but some people have experienced issues in other browsers- i tried at work using IE and quite frankly it was bobbins.

@manorboy, apologies, i missed you reply previously. re your comments about the shop names- i know, this isnt something i can control, but you will notice i have done my best with the other pages. when i do the new pages, there will be lots of internal links to the shop from them.

@lunar....the shop is open for business and there are some sale pieces available on folksy and facebook if your budget is stretched.

thanks again,

x
