if by "dry" you mean "basically just 'acts' as himself in every single role/situation, which got boring after the first 3 or 4 years" then i agree with you..

elton, on the other hand, gave us the young ones, blackadder, filthy rich & catflap - even mr. bean (i think)!

The young ones and Blackadder, brilliant. I just don't how he went from being a zany, fun guy to being such a pompous git. I don't like him at all.
