I always try my best you use local people. I’m looking for someone to put in an extra telephone socket. Can’t find anyone on Google. Any recommendations please? Thanks so much.

The Father in law years ago used a plug in thing to the main socket, and lots of cable over the house to several extentions. It isn't that difficult and there's lots of info available on the Internet.

That Master socket is quite an improvement on the ones I fitted with BT, as you don't require an IDC insertion tool (known as a 'bonja') although the extension socket would require one (you can use a small screwdriver but you need to be careful.)
However I'd agree with @stoofer34, a base phone and cordless is a much easier solution.

Bob, to say it was a bit Heath Robinson is no exageration, thing is, F-I-L actually worked for BT. He was a driving instructor, not an engineer tho.Is that back when you had a little winder on the side to call the operator ... ?
