Need to remove large households items...best way?

I have a couple of large household items I need to get rid of and I'm unsure of the best way to do it ... and the cheapest way.

For example, I have a single bed base (no mattress) - not worth anything to anyone really. Too big for the car, but generally quite a simple job if someone has the right vehicle.

Anyone got any recommendations?

They will come and collect it but it usually takes about 2 weeks before they can get round to you.

Please anyone reading this, don't dump stuff at the tip until you have rung KH first.

It may be junk to you but to someone else it could be just what they need, and you will be helping a charity at the same time.
