yes, outdoor play facilities, climbing type things, slide and if i remember correctly either a train or tractor type thingy, not a large area but it is fenced off and looks secure, it looks like it has that rubbered soft tarmac stuff on the ground too.
fairly large play area inside, couple of video games.. xbox/PS theres a separate area with a tv on the wall and xbox kinect camera above it, a couple of playthings aimed perhaps younger patrons... fit the pieces in.. slide the thingy around the maze (didnt get a proper look ) umm what else... there are 2 or 3 grab n win fairground machines, lots of space to run around. oh and pots of pick n mix available behind the bar :)
....... thats if you can get the kids past the dessert carousel fridge and 5 or 6 inch high cheesecakes lol

My husband also enjoyed a free meal there today.

He said:

Huge menu.

Vast portions. Evidently puddings were served in boxes, for overstuffed people to take away.

Not a great choice for vegetarians but what there is, sounds nice.

Staff still getting used to the place, which is why it was probably a good idea to do the trial runs in recent days.

He was particularly impressed by the excellent value and flexibility of the children's menu - he thought that it would be very popular with families.

Some lovely cartoons on the wall by the still-missed Dave Follows - nice touch for a chain pub.

Anyone know the opening hours, and what if any handpumped beers are on? Their facebook page is not very informative and the Greene King and Hungry Horse websites deny all knowledge of the place.

Review of Kings Horse.
Hi guys, I have just been for lunch so thought I would let you guys who haven't been yet all about it. Opening food hours are 11am till 9pm with I presume normal drinking times as any other pub. The entrance is clean, modern and new with a big car park, and outside play area and smoking area. The restaurant itself is shiny and new with comfortable moveable chairs and bench type seating. There are booths varying in size an some have TV screens in them showing kids programmes. There was an extensive main menu, they also do breakfast, and a carvery every day which when I went had three meats, varying potatoes, red cabbage, pork crackling, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and various vegetables. You could go back for as many veg as you wanted. There was also a salad bar which was all you can eat for £2.99. Deserts came form main menu and from the large chiller cabinet in the restaurant.
Food was tasty and hot, service quick and efficient, and I was seated quickly. The place had filled up by lunch, which for the first week of trading is understandable. They don't take bookings so early arrival is essential.
There was a separate bar area which had menus on tables so it looks like you can eat in there too. In there was a large pool table and a couple of gambler machine. Toilets were shiny and new and painted in modern colours. Around the other side of the pub past the carvery section was more seating and a child play area with climb on toys, 2 computer consoles, TV and Kinect.
Upcoming live music was advertised on Saturdays from 9pm and consisted of Kylie tribute, Robbie Williams tribute, Abba tribute, 70s, night and motown. Hope that helps. any other questions let me know.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Re the kids play area, does anyone know if it's like at Whacky with things for kids of different ages/sizes to play on or is it just for tiny tots?
