Currently getting to work if it involves using an Avanti 'service' (I use the term loosely as they don't provide anything close to a service) is nigh on impossible. Franchise removal can't come soon enough. They're a disgrace.Announcement soon on ticket office closures
And on HS2 delays
And on Avanti franchise removal
And on alcohol on trains
And on new price rises
And on a call to return to office based working
I have relatives trying to get from London to Liverpool in December. There are no tickets for sale for any service on national rail and a trip to Finsbury Park ticket office reveals that no tickets are for sale as no one yet knows if any trains will even run. Its not a strike weekend to my knowledge, just that Avanti can't be sure of providing a single train. From our capital to a major northern city and all the towns in between. We are literally a third world nation when it comes to travel. In fact, I've been to very poor countries who provide a better train service
