New Year’s Resolutions.

Another do over for me 🤦🏻‍♀️

I want to improve my health - some things worked last year and some didn’t stick, especially in the second part of 2021. Back to making an effort though and I’m contemplating dry January again.

I want to improve my stress levels - This is probably my most important one for next year because last year (and the one before) have been tough.

Kitchen Garden (and garden in general) - still a long way from River Cottage, I started strong but between the heat that singed everything in the greenhouse and the bloody cabbage caterpillars it all went to 💩 around mid July. I’ve got a bit of work to do before spring to get back on track but I’m optimistic.

I'm just hoping to start to get healthier and lose some of the weight I've put back on since doing so well last year. Aim is to get back down to the 'healthy' range again.
Might have to delay my new years resolution until I've had my birthday on the 9th though. As son will be missing his birthday this weekend due to being holed up alone after a positive PCR , we will have to celebrate both birthdays together . (If Boris allows it by then...)

So my 'New Year' resolution will be starting 10th Jan . :D

I make the same resolution each year: not to make anymore resolutions. Of course that means I break it every year  ... (scratches head, ponders the meaning of infinity and feed back loops. Thinks **** it and cracks open another beer can. :q:🤪🍻 )

To remember to get better drugs for the dogs next year, or go kick the shit out whoever not only had a lot of fireworks but also missed midnight by a good quarter of an hour.

Was that some sort of laser hologram at the London event ? Or did I imagine it through the bottom of my glass ?
If it was ..... who needs fireworks ?

A New Year's Resolution for me is about setting a goal, to improve. Ok so some stick and others don't but it's about the effort it takes to say - okay, this is what I want to work on. 1st January is a cliché I am aware but it's also a symbol of the new that comes after a period of over indulgence which makes it a good time to re-evaluate.

Most of my goals for this year are as much about getting through it than anything else, making the effort to improve my health and come out the end feeling better and I like the idea of setting goals at the beginning of the year, even if it's similar goals every year - eventually small changes stick

I'm working on myself today with a renewed enthusiasm.

I fell asleep on the sofa at around 10.30pm, was woken up by the fireworks at 12 & went to bed, managed to sleep through all the late fireworks going off.

Woke up at 9.30am to find I should have been at work at 8am (on my day off) but no one had mentioned it, and our scheduling app is down...

Had to go to Tesco to buy chicken for tea, as I'd forgotten it yesterday in my rush to get home from work!

Not a great start to the new year...

I swear this is a regular occurrence for you…?
Errrr, no, I've never missed a day at work? Last time they changed my rota without letting me know, (app was also down then)... They phoned and I made it in within the hour and stayed an hour extra. This time as its again their mistake I get the day off, on what was actually my day off.

They need to get the Kronos app back to working properly, as we have so many shift changes so often. I'm annoyed as I've lost a day's overtime which I could have done with having. Grrr....

I have a long standing new years resolution to actually use up shampoos, conditioners, bath stuff etc that's accumulated over the years before I buy any more. This is a tricky task as it's often replenished though gifts before I've needed to buy something.

I'm also going to try and not spend so much money in Home Bargains.

I like thinking of it as a goal @Bob.

I've put on a lot of weight following a knee injury in the summer so just want to get back in my jeans and stop eating so much crap
