I 'fixed' one the other day by unplugging it and starting it up again - sometimes they just 'lose their marbles'...

That is the limit of my skills - does the wire look OK - has the dish moved in the wind? Does it still point the same way as other dishes around you?

Mine does that in heavy rain. My guttering overflows on the corner of the house and water runs down on to the dish underneath. It does my head in, but obviously not that much as its been like it for 6 years!

You could also check the cable connection.

i did nothing seem to work :( maybe is time to buy new one grr
it was just the weather, most likely.. sky posted various things on their facebook and twitter yesterday:

Sky said:
Due to the current snowy weather conditions in a large part of the country, we are receiving an increase of no satellite signal reports. In most cases your picture will return once the snow clears however, if it doesn't clear please try out our no satellite signal diagnostics tool to resolve the issue.http://diagnostics.sky.com/no-satellite-signal/

Did you know Sky Go is free for our TV subscribers and is not affected by the weather which means you can still catch up with your favourite shows?http://go.sky.com/vod/page/default/home.do
