Possibly, it just looks a bit more 'streamlined' than a Mk IV - though the headlights do also look a bit more prominent.

If so, then 1945 onwards.
It's impossible to be certain without a bigger pic. Either way, as you say, post war.

It looks pre-war to me, but there are two good clues in the buildings. The small bell tower on top of what must have then been Brookfields Store, (now the HSBC Bank I think) which disappeared at some time, and that building where Timothy Whites and Taylors would be (next to Barclays) looks like the old Café Royale (I think.) Could be just post war, late 40's …

Did that not go in the W H Smith fire, whenever that was?

The County Suite, snogging in the The Grasshopper, complete with ultra violet lighting that showed people's dandruff. Mr Talona's crap pizza that we thought was exotic. Grab a Granny night.
