Possibly, it just looks a bit more 'streamlined' than a Mk IV - though the headlights do also look a bit more prominent.

It's impossible to be certain without a bigger pic. Either way, as you say, post war.

Postcard on Pinterest as by Valentines 1937. That would tie in with the clothes worn by the two women who are reasonably clearly visible. A bit out of date then, very so for 1950s. The Valentines postcard dating service says photo registered 1936.

It looks pre-war to me, but there are two good clues in the buildings. The small bell tower on top of what must have then been Brookfields Store, (now the HSBC Bank I think) which disappeared at some time, and that building where Timothy Whites and Taylors would be (next to Barclays) looks like the old Café Royale (I think.) Could be just post war, late 40's …
