I say buz, i didn't realise that i said it until someone from cannock said 'what's a buz' i now make sure i pronounce the s and say bus. It sounds a lot posher

The people of Stafford are a weird lot, no-one in Stafford seems to come from Stafford, & no-one talks to anyone....except on here...& me - I'll talk to anyone!

I come from Stafford , born in the old Fernleigh hospital in Marston Rd many moons ago. I talk to anyone as well

Son is always telling me off for saying 'buz', glad it's not only me then . Sounds wrong when I pronounce the 's' now .I used to speak posh until I met hubby from West Brom, he dragged me down to losing my 'posh' accent (His dad always called me "That posh tart from Stafford" when we first met )

Another thing I've noticed that's odd (today while looking for someone's house) is that some streets in Stafford are numbered very strangely - in the Midlands houses are numbered odds (1, 3, 5, 7...,.) on one side & evens (2,4 6, 8, .,. on the opposite side.....in the road I live on in Stafford all the houses are numbered sequentially.... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5....

On the road I grew up, the house with the number that was 2 lower was half a mile away...
