Not in Stafford, but this may imply a faith in the level of compliance that could be unjustified.

Greater spotted woodpecker in our garden today, seemed to be showing a distinct preference for the suet balls over the peanuts. First saw it this morning and it turned up again this afternoon.

Over the last 4 or five weeks watched our garden being turned into a nursery, baby blackbirds, thrushes, sparrows, starlings, blue tits & longtailed tits bouncing around and being shepherded by their parents. Now beginning to get 2nd broods of sparrows & starlings at least.

Wife chased some sort of raptor away from in our garden yesterday, it was
4/5 hrs before we saw any birds about anywhere round us.

My current front garden residents are rather more socially responsible that the long-tailed tits of some years back.

Surprised to see the Peregrines in the town centre this lunchtime (they usually seem to disappear/disperse outside of the breeding season).

A male and female seemed to be having a bit of a tussle.
