Who experienced the most untimely power cut in the early hours of NYE? Castletown and the surrounding area was subjected to a 3 hour long power cut (8000 homes in total). Barcode was lit by candlelight, it created an old skool Christmas look to the place, like what you would see on Christmas cards you get from your Gran. Although the after party was possibly the quietest after party known to man, it was still great fun, well done BBC for lettin us stay.

Does anyone remember the time when the 'Ford' was subjected to a power cut which lasted for nearly 2 days. I do, I was about 9 at the time and as a kid it seemed well funny. My rents didn't like it to much though, food in the freezer went off and we had an electric oven - gay!

Correct! - This is when I'm talking about.

Those were the days of proper snowfalls and distruption to everything - mainly school boilers. Enough snow to actually go sledging, fantastic sport can I say. Kids now a days will never know how much fun this can be. Shame, they will have to use the Wii now I suppose to capture any such thing.

Man, the Wii!!! Spent Xmas on my bro's, they are ace. Believe what you read in the papers, I came away from it with a bruised eye and black /cracked nose. Soooo worth it though.

I think I remember the old school 2 day powercut. Everyone in Doxey (or so it seemed, although it was probably about 5 people) just went and stood outside our houses and talked about it a lot.

I experienced the power cut in Castletown. I thought we had been cut off as we had only just moved in and I presumed there had been an administrative failure...!
