For the night shot did you have a longish exposure ? I'm pretty sure that bright sky object on the right is Jupiter, judging by the stars around it, and I can just about detect a trail. :)

It was a 28 second exposure. I definitely thought that the bright star may be a planet so it may well be Jupiter.

Yes those stars in the constellation of Aquarius. Here's a screenshot from Red Shift, I've taken the labels off for clarity .. except for Jupiter. The stars have come out well in your pix. :)
