Well here it is the photography tips and tricks thread. Seeing as its in the tech forum please post images with exif data, or at least ISO / shutter / aperture / focal length settings - I always find it helps to analyse why a photo came out how it did.

Hmmm, nice thread idea. I might have to dig out some old pictures I did many moons ago and scan them... although I wouldn't remember half of what I did to acheive them!!

What's the maximum size (standard format not panoramic) photo you can print, and what would you charge? Would it be on photographic paper?
I'm curious as we are thinking of a big print for our lounge wall

Hey up Wmr, I normally charge £7 for a nearly A2 print on to photo quality paper (I say nearly because I can't print within 15mm of any margin): mates rates:£5. I can also print onto canvas but the cost of that gets a bit silly. Let me know if you are interested.

sounds very reasonable Ecker. I'll keep it in mind for sure and give you a shout in the near future.
:) Thanks

Hi ecker

What kind of mates rate are you talking about for an a2 canvas print out and does the details matter

Hi GD. I can currently do you an A2 print on canvas for £12. Please note that the resultant print will not be full A2 because I can not print within 15mm of any margin. The inks used are NOT archival inks and the print should not be placed in direct sunlight.

As regards details: If you need an enlarged image, I always enlarge proportionally, the resultant image will depend upon your original image size and that because of the texture of canvas you should not expect the resolution you would normally expect of photo quality paper.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can help....Ecker
