Playparks in Stafford

Since it's sunny thought this map of playparks in Stafford (and what's in them) might be useful.

With a small person who appears to have no fear of anything (and can confidently walk / climb etc) we've been amazed at the quality and variety of parks around Stafford.

We've been at Wildwood Park with our Grandaughter this afternoon. IMHO it is the best one around and knocks spots off the one at Victoria Park. We could do with one on the North end of town too. Perhaps that will be part of the new housing development there along with the schools, and shops etc?

I believe the Masterplan for the North end development mentioned a 'destination' play park. We were impressed with Rowley Park play park when we went there on Sunday.

I agree Wildwood Park is probably the best.

There's also a good one behind the big new housing development at Doxey (perhaps best accessed from the car park at the end of Martin Drive on Castlefields for those with transport, that also has a gentle off road cycle track for young uns. As it's right next to the old railway line it's handy for those who fancy a walk as well.

There was at one point last year an attempt at getting the council to revamp Holmcroft park (next to the library) - I'm not sure what's happening & now can't find Facebook page that had the details on - its such a shame that there's nothing for kids in the North End of Stafford.

We mostly go to Wildwood Park as its my daughters favourite, then Town Park or Rowley Park :)

Is that this one - http://www.staffordbc.gov.uk/stafford-play-areas-lineker-close - or have I missed one off?

Slightly off topic. I was watching a football match on Sunday and I was appalled by the quality of the football pitches. The Sunday league pay money to the Council for the use of the pitch, which if invested correctly could provide improved pitches for all members of the community.

The two pitches I saw at Holmcroft were hard, uneven and hadn't been cut. Not very good at all.

The 'Main' play park in Victoria Park isn't flagged, though it's fairly obvious to all, I suppose..

A year ago, I produced my Allotments Map, along similar lines to this. And Wormella has her Impending Developments Map. It makes me wonder what other things could be done - perhaps @basil and @John Marwood could produce a map of ancient and still existing public conveniences?

Any other possibilites?

Sneaky footpaths/shortcuts?
Wildlife areas?
Cycle parking?
