• If somebody asks for your help (needs to make a telephone call, lost a ball in your garden, needs a drink or pen and paper) refer them to a younger neighbour or assist them through a closed door or call a friend or neighbour to come and help.

"Assisting" them through a closed door seems a bit harsh - perhaps open it first and ensure that it is closed after they have passed through safely..?

Also just had this through from them:

Stafford Local Policing Team have today conducted a road safety initiative in the Borough and would like to inform residents that numerous drivers have been stopped after being detected of motoring offences.
Several motorists were stopped for speeding, not wearing seat belts and driving whilst using a mobile phone.
All those stopped were either given a fixed penalty notice or reported for summons.
