Possibly free energy saving measures.

Anyone else get on the Octopus Tracker tariff? Gas has been sat at around 6-7p for the last few months, yet those poor energy companies are having to get by on 10p. Won't someone think of the oil barons!

Wish I'd got on sooner but been having a battle with my unregistered smart meter, means my savings have kicked in with the warmer weather but I'm now paying similar prices for gas and electricity.

I'm on Go for electricity, but changed gas only over to the tracker.
Also on Go for electricity and Tracker for gas.

The Octopus (National Grid Demand Flexibility Service) saving sessions have also been great. As well as receiving over £40 credit so far, I've also had the benefit of lots of free electricity.

I was just looking at the cost of a A2W heat pump as my sister’s boiler has packed in…

It really is a scam at this point isn’t it? £15-30k for a fit out due to the potential need to replace radiators and pipework. Why would you even bother doing that instead of replacing the whole thing with a set of air to air heat pumps and getting cooling in the summer as well at that point?

It's been a slow process, but Broad Oak have just arrived this afternoon to do a bit of preparatory work, ahead the installation of my government funded cavity wall insulation, plus extractor fans, tomorrow.

Cavity wall insulation all done and a couple of automatic ventilation fans installed.

Broad Oak have done an excellent job with the installations and did a decent tidying up job afterwards as well.
I’m in the early process of having this done too. Out out interest , how long did it take to complete all the work? Were they quite flexible in regards to when they come ?

I started the application process last year and then had a long wait for approval (seems to depend on how much government funding is available at any particular time).

Once my application had received funding approval, it took less than a month to my installation appointment, for which I was offered a choice of dates.

They made a late request to pop round the afternoon, before my appointment to do a bit of preparatory work (survey the work required and fit the ventilation fans), but the main work (carrying out ventilation tests, installing the cavity wall insulation and connecting up and commissioning the fans) all took place over approximately 6 hours on my appointment day. There was a team of 5 people, which included a qualified electrician (to wire up and connect the ventilation fans).

They also did a clean and tidy up afterwards.
