Potholes.

The day before yesterday - one can't help but feel that there is already a word in English for that, but one is certain that the Germans have one - i saw a young chap pull himself on to the Wildwood Ring Road.

He rode his bicycle with no hands on his bars - headphones he wore, plugged into the phone to which his eyes were glued.

A braver man than i he was, though a man with less teeth than i he may now be.

I know it's not exactly helpful to cite examples of far worse exemplars of a given phenomenon to undermine the seriousness of others, but i'm fairly sure that if i could find a way of digitising slides i could show you a pothole that would give you some cause for comfort.

I have today driven to Sleaford and back, through Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and a bit of Leicestershire. We are well in front in the pothole stakes, both in terms of numbers and individual intensity.

Resurfacing coming along nicely at the Hough. Outside Argos and SCS is done, white lines are going down.

I was there just and a worker was going around blocking spaces of the rest of the stores up to b&q so they can start on that in the morning.

It was bad enough today, the car in front of me decided to squeeze through the cones blocking off the part that they had just resurfaced, & then drive round whilst the workers shouted, waved & chased the car which was having to dodge several rollers that were in the process of flattening it down.....it was very funny & the 150yr old driver didnt seem to understand what he had done wrong at alll!

The road from the Main Gate to Swynnerton village seems to have been resurfaced - and quite well done it is.

It seems a little odd, it wasn't too bad before, I only remember there being one significant one on that stretch a few weeks ago - certainly not on the Corporation Street scale.

I wonder why it might take priority?

The special feature potholes on the embankment up to the railway bridge by Izaak Walton's Cottage have been filled in.

They will be sorely missed for the few weeks before they return.
