Potholes.

The special feature potholes on the embankment up to the railway bridge by Izaak Walton's Cottage have been filled in.

They will be sorely missed for the few weeks before they return.

A pothole's for life just not this Christmas you know :)

Given there's been comments here about how red light jumping is a "Stafford thing" it is perhaps worth noting that when i stopped on the yellow at a temporary traffic light outside Cambridge this morning three cars behind me pulled out and overtook, the last two of which went through on red.
On a similar note, I had cause to go to Swadlincote today, via Abbots Bromley, Newborough and through the middle of Burton.

Holy Hell! Burton has potholes of a size and quantity that defies belief.

A drive round Liverpool would certainly recalibrate what you perceive to be a pothole.

There is a truly vicious one just out past Hopton Garage.

It might be OK now, though, someone has sprayed a bit of white paint round it.

The Doxey Road is starting to look a bit holey out the front here. Obviously nothing will be done, due to the new road.
I might get a can of bright coloured paint and spray willys all over the road........
Steady.

It's an old one, but I still get a laugh out of it .....

One of those road survey vans has just cruised up Sandon Road, as if the issue isn't visible from the ISS using a pair of opera glasses from a Christmas cracker.

I note that the Cavern in the Road outside Hopton Garage has been painted round for at least the third time.

It seems possible that a little more effort than a bit of transient paint may be on the cards, at last. There has been quite a bit of tarmac bodged into holes on the back roads in the area lately.

Possibly expecting a little more heavy traffic...?

The Newport Road Railway Bridge Pothole has returned I see. Won't be long before you can actually view the railway tracks beneath it judging by the way my suspension clonked when I drove over it earlier.

It's a free means to charge your car off the overheads :)

I drove down both bits of Railway St earlier, there's more potholes than there is tarmac. I was feeling quite travel sick by the time I got to Station Rd.

Hardly surprising Stafford has so many. You think all those HGVs carrying bricks for all the new homes are lightweight?
