So up to 500 single male asylum seekers (economic migrants of course) so what could possibly go wrong ?
Take it that most of you fans supporting this venture do not live local to the billet and are clearly at odds with the vast bulk who do.

Guess the shite most of you eat (what’s for dinner /tea) eventually rots what grey matter was ever there.

More importantly where is the question mark on the masked guy's banner?
Yes, on the "who's" instead of "whose" banner.
"We know nothing about these men" but read the Daily Mail !
Welcome people to the town and they're likely to be an asset to Stafford. But installing the police's "perimeter fencing" is likely to bring out the worst in them and there's a slight risk that talk of "when a child is raped or murdered" could be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I doubt if all of those photographed here were born in Stafford and none of them have ever been convicted of anything.

What goes wrong in the countries that economic migrants leave is "economic strain" from fewer working-age people to look after the aging population that remains. Economic migrants often fill vacancies in the low paid or unpopular occupations, such as hospitality or fruit picking, of the countries they move to.
I live a quarter of a mile from the premises but am not sure if that's relevant.

I’m not sure any of that is

How is it different to the 500 mostly male drunk/drugged up students that used to be there?

A quick look on FB shows me the sort of people glad this has been blocked are the same ones horrified they may have to prove they aren't skint to go to Spain. I really despair of this country lately, I'm meant to fly back today but part of me doesn't want to.

As I have said before in this thread why do you assume all asylum seekers are criminals?

Is there any evidence to support your concerns?

At the end of the day what gives us the right to decide who should and shouldn't live in this country? Especially if people are genuinely seeking asylum to flee persecution.

Seems to me they've been condemned as child rapists and murderers before they've stepped out of the dinghy ... :|

Take a look at those pix above. Looks to me like the waiting room for audition casting for those up country folk in the film 'Deliverance.' That's me making a judgement on appearance only, NOT COOL.

Yet they're making similar but more severe judgements, and for some that is acceptable.

(And you wonder why I shout at the sky some mornings.)

Some interesting mental gymnastics on FB. Apparently a lot of people would be fine if they were refugees like Ukranians, but not if they're asylum seekers. If you point out that all refugees are asylum seekers til their paperwork goes through and that the UK is very slow to process it they get quite confused at what it is they're angry at but they're still dead against it no matter what.

EDIT: A lot also don't understand the difference between those and an immigrant.

"but not if they're asylum seekers" and without a thought than anyone seeking asylum, like a refugee seeking refuge, is likely to be in a pretty desperate situation.

Some facts on asylum seekers and crime. German but seems to support people's fears. I know facts don't matter on this particular topic as its so emotive but still

There's a lot of opposition as a lot of people were shown video footage of a same serco facility providing the same to asylum seekers in Stoke on Trent, showing all the drinking, drugs, & stolen preperty that they had managed to 'aquire', crime in the area had risen greatly along with social disruption & numerous police raids & visits.

I won't bother going on about that though, back to my

.... Its very different from having uni students next door, rowdy, drunk, or drugged but the uni are responsible for them and a word from the police sorts all that out. Very different from the Chinese students that were supposed to live there.

But anyhow, you all won't object unless it's in your back gardens & you can guarantee none of the people who want it live next door.

I live on Kingston Hill, there aren’t many places closer to Stafford Court than that.

Surprise, I’m not bothered by the proposal!

How is it different to the 500 mostly male drunk/drugged up students that used to be there?

That being said… most of the students in Stafford Court were too busy playing video games or DND to be drugged up on anything except weed to get past the existential dread of copious amounts of student loan debt.

Source: I was a Stafford Court student, albeit without the weed. Someone I knew smoked two whole marijuanas and almost died so it put me right off /s

I object if only on the profiteering from human misery.

We need a root and branch change in the way we process economic migrants, asylum seekers and illegal immigrants. We need to process them accurately and in a timely fashion. Appeals also need processing quickly. Anyone declined the right to stay needs removing as soon as possible - even those from countries we don't have agreements with or the ones who deliberately destroy their documents. Doing all of this would remove the need to house tens of thousands of people for indefinite periods at great expense. The current system is totally broken and works only for companies like Serco.

F*ck the Tories who have spent 12 years doing the total of jack about any of this.

I know someone who worked at an illegal immigrant place right by Manchester airport. They were held there before being shipped back to were they had come from.
He was one of the first aiders/ medical people up there.
Everywhere he went in the building, he had to have 2 armed guards with him, just in case he was held hostage or attacked.
The place is surrounded by electric fences and tons of barbed wire.
He reckoned the money was brilliant, but just wasn't worth it.

At least they got sent back quickly! Illegal is illegal!

I do wonder how many of the people who objected to this latest application voted for the Tory party who have done nothing about the immigration situation, yet still fail to see the connection between things that happen in this country and the people voted in!

Look at prisons in America, that's the model the tories are using. Find a reason to cost lots of money, then feed the problem, bingo your mates have tons of tax money thrown at them indefinitely.
