If you had said to 16 year old me that a Ramone would be playing a gig in my home town I wouldnt have believed you. So I will be along to see him.

I am going to see a band in February on a Monday night. Does anyone know if the venue has a curfew? Please let it have a curfew.

The event page on Facebook normally lists a finish time. I took the liberty of looking up gigs on Mondays in February. 22.45.

So, I attended for the first time tonight - Face Up, The Blue Carpet Band and the Anti Nowhere League.

Apart from being daftly loud, it was OK - there isn't really any need to use every watt.

There were two general areas to the demographics of those attending - those who had never seen a black and white TV and those who wouldn't have to get up for work on Monday morning. The latter were prominent in the mosh pit, and, from the number that ended up on the floor, it might have been best if they left their Warfarin off this morning.

Face Up were OK, I would like to see the Blue Carpet Band with a better sound arrangement and the League were the League...

I've only been to Redrum a couple of times. Its not my usual choice of venue. I attended redrum a couple of months ago to watch a fantastic band. I had a great night, but probably louder than it needed to be.

I went again more recently as part of the Walking Street pub crawl where I meant the landlord - a very nice chap.

Some other details have come to mind today.

I did wonder why it was insisted that I was served in a plastic "glass", yet @Colossal was cheerfully handed a much more wieldable glass bottle?

The Mayflower crew were notably pleasant, going as far as to carry someone's mobility scooter upstairs for them.

Another chap arrived in a wheelchair and was carried upstairs over his mate's shoulder - most impressive.

There appeared to be no professional "glass" collection service in operation, but I did manage to get rid of mine to an amateur, who had a surprising knowledge of the lyrics of the entire ANL catalogue...

I was on cola so have no overriding thoughts on the drink service. I do like that venue, I would prefer a little more light and shade with the acts they book but otherwise it's a real bonus for Stafford.

Interestingly, it is an acoustic night tonight.
