Nasty accident involving a lorry by St .John's road on the A449.

I hate lorrys
Try living without anything that's been carried here on a lorry.?.
okay fair comment lol - i hate "some" lorry drivers!

Just seems that most accidents involve lorrys! driving on m6 i have had some mental lorry drivers when i overtake - they seem to always be fiddling with something and swerving around!!

Yep - I live near here and when I got out this morning there were bits scattered all over the road. Smart car in rather a bad state and one corner of the front of the van bashed to hell. I did think there must have been a bit of speed involved for BOTH vehicles to be damaged so badly, but that's just speculation on my part. I do hope whoever was in the smart car is ok though - looked like the passenger side got creamed so am hoping it was just the driver in there :(

I hope the people involved are OK and not too seriously injured. Thought it must have been a bad one to have been reported on TV travel news.

Also to add to the chaos it reported a slow moving heavy load on Lichfield Road by Queensville just a bit later on .

I drive a smart car and was hit by someone a year or so ago.
What a mess.
Basically Smart cars have plastic panels screwed onto a steel base. In my case the plastic panels shattered and spread over quite an area, but there was no damage to the structure of the car.
Hopefully that might be the case here today i.e. looks a lot worse than it is.

does not seem as bad but thought i'd post it here anyway-

Staffordshire - Tixall Road in Stafford partially blocked between the Wolseley Road junction and the Harrowby Street junction, because of an accident.

We live near to Wolverhampton Road and my girlfriend witnessed this mornings accident. As some other members have stated it involved a van driver and a lady in a smart car. The lady was on her way home after a night shift and for some reason veered over the white lines into the path of the oncoming van. The woman who was being looked after by my girlfriend and a few local residents was very shaken but there were no obvious injuries, The van driver was complaining of chest pains and then collapsed onto the floor, however it is thought that the collapse was as a result of shock rather than anything else.
