It's going to take more than a bent f****** spoon to stop Putin. IF the 'deterrent' doesn't work, we could be on the end game. It worked before, but those old Russian leaders of the Cold War were mostly WW2 (or the Great Patriotic War as the Russians call it) veterans and had a pretty good idea of what a total war can do to a country. Putin is an unstable head case, he might just go for it.

I can only hope Europe and the West are tooled up and ready to play.

“Those whom the gods would destroy they first make mad” Could that be Vlad’ ?
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that this might not be a good time to commission that new bathroom suite, or a home extension.
Thinking about it, the home extension could work - providing it’s a few metres below ground.

It's all going a bit Pete Tong, hearing now that those in the 'disputed' regions that were given Russian passports are being refused entry into Russia as they try to flee the Ukranian advances. The Wagner group are promising prisoners their freedom if they serve for 6 months (and execution if they try to desert) and as Russian law does not allow for release through service a sideline in KIA/new passports from the aforementioned 'disputed' regions is in operation. And all the while the Russians are being told it's to protect their borders from the evil aggressors.

40 years ago HM Government advised that we shelter 'under the stairs' in the event of a nuclear weapon attack.
The scariest scenario was 'survived for what '.....

40 years ago RAF Stafford was on the target list, one dose of "instant sunshine" and the whole damm town would have vanished

Those of us who were near enough might still have had most of the walls standing, from the downward direction of the blast from the air-burst.

Just a matter of putting the roof and floors back.

This from the BBC, yes the BBC.

This one will show you who stirred the pot & why (and continues to do so)

The countries previously occupied by Russia seem most concerned with fighting them, the people with the best knowledge of what Ukraine has coming are the ones trying hardest to stop it, Lithuanian citizens have been crowd funding drones for them.

I trust people who've lived it more than those who read about it, and the sentiment is strongly anti Russian.

I have to wonder if these f****** bacofoil hatters on this thread were actually around during the Cold War !!! If they were actually involved in it.

If not.

The ^Newsnight bit from the BBC, yes the BBC, is from 2015, yes 2015.

But you are probably right that Ukraine hasn't changed that much since then.

After all, in 2015 the UK ended an historic coalition Con/Lib government by voting a majority Conservative government led by David Cameron. One of the key issues of the Election had been the promise of a Referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union...

ALMOST NOTHING IN UK POLITICS HAS CHANGED SINCE THEN

So yes, your moving pictures are a welcome break from reality.

Most conspiracy theorists are pro Russia, it's such a strange coincidence.
