Putin's strategy of supporting Trump, thereby fracturing the USA, and supporting Boris on Brexit, thereby fracturing Europe was successful. His policy of a blitzkrieg of the Ukraine has become severely unhooked. When he says he will use nuclear weapons, and follows that up with 'I am not
bluffing,'
that sounds to me like desperation. And desperate men do desperate things.

During the Cold War, leaders of the USSR such as Khrushchev and Brezhnev were both World War 2 veterans (or the Great Patriotic War as the Russians called it.) They had seen first hand what a major conflict can do to a country, and the USSR took a severe hammering in the first two years of that conflict. Consequently while they were loaded to the gills with nuclear weapons, they understood the meaning of 'deterrent.' The only thing a nuclear weapon is good for is as a deterrent. If that doesn't work, we're talking Armageddon here. And I mean Armageddon, I've been to the Peace Park in Hiroshima, I've seen what a small fission bomb can do, and thermo-nuclear weapons are orders of magnitudes more powerful.

Putin isn't of the calibre of those old time Soviet leaders, he's a loose cannon whose successes have gone to his head, so this war in Ukraine is pushing him into a corner.

If he uses a nuclear weapon, even a tactical nuclear weapon, what does he think is going to happen next ?

Does he care ?

A shit or bust scenario with an incomprehensible 'game over' conclusion.

I can't translate it properly as the words don't quite exist, but there is a saying in the Baltic states that a Russian would rather kill his herd than let another have it. Unfortunately this goes for what they perceive as theirs too, not just what is.

Putin wants the USSR back together, and he's getting old. I don't think he cares that his country will be utterly destroyed in the process, what matters is getting what he sees as his. I honestly think the events in Ukraine have surprised him, he's not used to people fighting back, and he's angry about it. That makes him dangerous.

I'll even provide a .50 calibre machine gun. I've got one lying about out back somewhere.

(A rifle might be a bit more classy, but the old fifty goes the job done and then some. ):P

To many years banged up for years on those ships clearly pushed old Bob over the edge (who also visited ground zero don’t you know)

It is clear that if you did watch those vid’s the content went over your heads (no surprise really) so here is another one where you can find out what Putin “actually” said, The Jimmy Dore video that I posted should have woken you up but this one “may”

As I said, I'll trust people that had direct dealings with Russian occupation over someone that watches youtube videos for their information.

Edit: Plus anyone that needs to CAPITALISE their video title to draw attention to certain words knows their target audience well :xd:

Seriously, why would we watch any video that you post alongside a torrent of insults towards us?
If your aim here is genuinely to get us to watch something (and I am aware of their content, by the way), you need to change your approach. You give the impression of wanting to antagonise rather than inform.

But yeah, generally speaking, I'm not going to watch a video that is titled as if it was a Daily Mail headline. A title is designed to send a message and the message that formatting sends to most level-headed people is a red flag.

I have an idea that my former Civil Service bosses knew far far more than this gormless fellah's silly internet videos.

Thank heaven the clearance procedures keep these sorts of idiots out of the intelligence loop, (and I'm speaking figuratively and mentally here.)

Yes, Hiroshima was the first 'ground zero' from the nuclear point of view (not counting Alamogordo which was a test.) The Peace Park and its museum is built right under the point of the air burst detonation. There are buildings there that have been left untouched since the detonation. You really need to see it to believe it.
(PS your bacofoil hat would not have helped you there ... :P)

I realise you think you know everything. Sadly, thinking it doesn't make it so.

I have a woolly hat with horns on I might add ...... (and before anybody starts up, I'm aware Vikings did not wear horns on their helmets. That just makes it easier for your enemy to break your neck. :P)

Well, I was thinking of trying for the horns of one of them Texican Long Horn cattle like you see in old western movies, but they objected with a degree of force. So I thought: 'F*** it, a banana will do.'

Expected coalition leader of todays Latvian election has stated he's banning Russian language schools, decided if they want to be Latvian they need to start acting like it.
