The view that it is a Ukranian air defence missile seem a little odd? Wouldn't they fire in the direction of incoming targets, not after ones that have already passed over? Although I guess they are faster as smaller/lighter so maybe they do? I always assumed you shot down BMs by getting in their path, but never researched it.

The implication of that tweet is that it was the remains of an intercepted Russian missile. There would be little control over where the bits come down - but still unlucky to hit something in that area, if genuinely unintentional.

Ah, you read something I didn't! Yeah, not sure what you can do about the remains of an intercept. Can't expect a target to take the hit because you're scared where the debris might land, still seems very implausible to me though that the first 'accidental' strike in Nato space was a remote building rather than a field.

There is a large amount of conjecture here, but firing stuff up into the air and hoping that it, or bits of it, don't come down in a dangerous manner, can sometimes be a matter of 'something must be seen to be done'.

I wonder what “story” the MSM (ie BBC) will be telling us all in the morning ?
They will of course make no mention that Uncle Sam has told the crook in charge that he should now ask the Russkie’s to get around the table to discuss a ceasefire as the untold billions is soon to end & its odds on that he will not be happy about that.

Not what you want to hear in (sic) know. :heyhey:
Big fan of the mid-term results eh @Raven ? Where's your Red Wave? Or is that not what you want to hear?

Maybe you could square the circle that Zelensky is a *checks notes* Jewish Nazi?

Do you even hear yourself?

You. Are. Being. Played.

An East Anglian branch of CAMRA put their pub of the year voting form on their website and didn't use a secure log-in. The person responsible then had to authenticate people who had voted to stop non-members (and perhaps members from other branches) from voting, as only members of the branch were supposed to be valid voters. Laboriously checking the voters and found that he was plagued with fake votes (oddly enough, mostly coming from IP addresses in Russia (origins since confirmed by IT experts) - work that one out!

So proof emerges of our special forces in Ukraine, interesting but not surprising really. Was surprised to see Latvia with the second highest number, but going by the evening briefings on their TV it was obvious they did their own intelligence gathering.
