Russia/Ukraine, China/Taiwan.

I've lost count of how many times the spectre of 'World War III' has been invoked over potential military conflict in my lifetime, but Russia and China agreeing to stand against America and the West whilst Russia are on the verge of invading Ukraine is a bit scary, no?

Must have missed the bit about them standing together, does that include aggression not just defence?

Very rich in natural resources, same for China and Russia, gotta wonder how long a game we're playing here.

I haven't read the entire statement, but the summaries I've seen/heard imply that's the case. I guess this would be a key extract from it:

"Friendship between the two States has no limits. There are no ‘forbidden’ areas of cooperation."

From the link below:

"“This is a pledge to stand shoulder to shoulder against America and the West, ideologically as well as militarily,” Daly said. “This statement might be looked back on as the beginning of Cold War Two.” The timing and clarity of the communiqué—amid tensions on Russia’s border with Europe and China’s aggression around Taiwan—will “give historians the kind of specific event that they often focus on.”"

Not looking good.
Guessing all the gas issues were a reminder that he owns us, before he takes possession of something else he wants. Maybe the only resolution here is to offer Ukraine immediate membership of nato? Its what putting insists he won't stand for yet he's doing what he wants regardless so once he's took over Ukraine then whats next?

We must hope that next winter is a mild one.

Depends on whether it's a 'nuclear' winter or not.
The scary thing is Putin seems like the sort of chap who would happily hit the button if he was going to lose, ensuring his own country is destroyed of course but to make sure he also gets us. And Russia is a big place, there will be pockets in the mountains where radiation doesn't really drift, maybe eventually he'd win after all?

But if you give in because of that you may as well just hand him the UK as well, I mean he already owns us financially, and pretty sure he controls our government, but it'd be time to order a Cyrillic keyboard.

Thankfully I don’t think those who actually launch them would listen

The most interesting thing is what is going to be with russia when Putin will leave, he's not immortal, he will end, but the interesting part is what is going to be he'll be done

Putin has Cancer and Parkinsons and Gout so you could say he doesn't give a shit

But he also has a daughter that he wants to be his successor

So it needs to be a blue on blue or blue on red

Or beige with a hint of arsenic

Nukes aren't harmful anyway, you need to stop listening to mainstream media. Know anyone that ever died from getting nuked? Of course not, I'm going to ignore them they can't harm me, I just wanna live my life innit!

I remember seeing a similar film made for American GI's who were shipping out to Europe for the D Day landings. It's subject was the German MG42 machine gun and it's high rate of fire. It also advised the soldiers to duck and cover, and remember that these weapons consumed enormous amounts of ammunition which would put large strains on the logistics of the German Army.

Yeah, right, you're all but crapping yourself as a sheet of high velocity bullets are streaming over you at the rate of 20 per second and you're going to appreciate the fact that it's difficult to supply ammunition for such a weapon.

I don't know about you but I'm really glad to see the show of strength from our glorious leader in sanctioning all the Russians that didn't donate to the Conservative party.

I'll be OK, I've still got the iodine pills from a previous Sellafield event.

We’re all going to have to learn to ‘Duck and Cover’ - here’s a training film to help:

Brings back memories of years ago in The Grapes , chatting to the Scottish army lads who were down here doing nuclear training somewhere by Swynnerton . Their orders if any surviving civilians were to approach their nuclear shelter were to shoot to kill.
