'our records show'
Some people have difficulties in accepting that their records may not reflect reality, however much assistance you give them. Just be grateful that you are not them - it's a technique that I find quite reassuring..

I have spent the last 28 years being told by a government agency that 'our records' show that I owe them money, despite regularly telling them that their records are inaccurate and that I owe them nothing. Every few years they agree that this is true and stop for six months - then it all starts again. I had a letter from them last August agreeing that the information that I have given them is true - and a letter from them, three weeks later, starting it all over again. They have been telling me since before Christmas that they are going to 'interview me under caution' - I'm still waiting....

as said previously I used to work for SARH, my advice is ask to see the works order that shows you have had the work done in accordance with SARH's viewpoint, and where is your signatory to sign off on the works being complete?

Without this, you have a case of witholding payment and getting the work done, eventually!

You are kidding?! We always used to call it the Tasteless Pantry (original I know!).
Or the Tasty Pants.

I used to go there at lunchtimes, then the management changed and I noticed the chopping board colour scheme didn't seem to be adhered too (one for veg, one for meat etc..). A few rush trips to the loo on an evening and I decided to buy elsewhere.

I also remember having a cheese and tomato toastie from there and it being a bit soggy, hardly surprising when there was a tinned plum tomato squished in it.

Well after a few hours the lady bravely rang back and must of had a personality transplant in that time as it seemed like a different person. She was polite and agreed that there may have been a mistake but at the postoffice's end.
She asked if we still wanted the cupboard fitted by themselves or would we like the form to fill in so we could do it ourselves. As she was much politer we have agreed to let them do it although aparantly we still have to pay first. It would probably be cheaper to diy it but less bother (hopefully) if they do it for us.
We already have a social worker for one of the girls who is autistic, she noticed our kitchen is a bit over run and thought another cupboard would help, i agree lol. The housing weren't keen but she persuaded them. But i think without her involment it would definately have been a diy job.
We have a government agency telling us we owe them money every so often, we too get it sorted out, then they send us another demand. Some really stoopid folk make decisions in said agency i think.

Never had a problem with SARH - because Ive never been given the chance to have one!!! been on their list now for 6 years! I think its because im the sort of person who who love the chance to have a stable home and wouldnt mind fixing up the odd thing if needed myself! But im in private rented and had to move twice now due to them wanting to sell the house from under me and this one will be the same as soon as the market picks up!

I haven't lived in an SARH property for a about 3 years now. My account's still open and I still owe them a bit of arrears they've never chased me on. I'll get round to paying them off eventually but it does say something about how on top of things they are. Maybe they just forgot to make a note that you need repairs?
I did have to wait about 6 months for them to 'renovate' my flat before I moved in (which consisted of ripping everything out and plastering up the holes in the wallpaper...)

Also they never mentioned I got the place because the previous tenant committed suicide, but that might have been on purpose...

We got our house because the old lady died, at foot of the stairs apparantly. Had some strange goings on here too.
